Did I say somewhere that skipping church was "Biblically correct"? No. We all do a lot of things are not Biblically correct. Gluttony is a sin. Who hasn't helped themselves to one to many servings here and there? Who hasn't lusted in their heart or thought they would like to slap one of their coworkers upside the head? Of course you have. Everyone has.
In basic terms, I believe you have told people that in order to get into Heaven, they must follow the teachings of the Bible and that people can't just pick and choose what they wish to follow. I'm pretty sure I've seen posts by you to that effect but I could be wrong.

Actually, it sounds like she said that purposely choosing not to follow the Bible is ok because everybody sins. Everbody does sin, that doesn't mean you should embrace it rather than try to turn from it. It's like saying "that person over there stole a loaf of bread, so I'm going to cheat on my taxes even though I know it's wrong". How does that make sense?

Yes. In the post I quoted on this thread she is. I was referring to what she has said in past threads with that comment. I should have been more clear.

Did I say I was absolved of not going to Church somewhere? Maybe you could cut and paste something to that effect?

Ahhh, so you admit you are wrong, yet you are still doing it and have no plans to change. Isn't that EXACTLY what other Christians are supposed to call you out on? Because I'm really confused by your differing stances depending on the thread.

The point of the discussion wasn't a "right or wrong" debate. It is about WHY are people leaving the Church. I told you why I left as did a lot of others. But, if you think the "you are wrong" type arguing is going to bring people back to Church, think again.

And I said people are leaving the church because they hate being told they are doing things wrong when they are. Truth hurts.

Well we both told you that wasn't the reason we left. We were trying to offer reasons to show you what some of the other issues are, besides the one you brought up as someone who still goes to church. Since we had the experience of NOT going to church and the article was about NOT going to church, we thought we would offer you some of the reason why WE didn't go.

And I heard you. You had a bad experience at one or two churches and decided church is not worth the effort.

No, not really. What you think about my going or not going doesn't bother me one way or the other.

Hold the phone.
You have had problems in 7 different churches?
Strange.
Ok. I'm going to leave this alone.

If every church in your demonination is only focused on the check you write, maybe you should try another denomination. I am not Baptist, but I've been attending a Baptist church for the last 7 years. And if all else fails, you find like minded Christians and started meeting in your living rooms on Sunday. That's how churches start all the time.
And why on earth would any one PERSON be used as an example to how you are supposed to be more like? The ONLY one anyone should strive to be more like is Jesus. Doesn't anyone question this stuff?

Yes. Questioning this stuff is what led me to the decision to no longer try more churches. All of them that I personally tried were full of people not even trying anymore. Just there to make the appearance and be counted.
Anyone seen the " tator" video on Facebook? I think it fits here.
