I like my Hamilton Beach Brew Station. No pot to wash. Or drop and break.

I might just buy a second one. The one I have now is set to go off at 4:30, for Wayne. I could set the second one to go off at 6:30, for me.

This might be the best solution, without dropping a ton of money.

That is what I have & I liked it very much.  It has been on the top of my fridge for 3 years now.  I just never bother making coffee at home anymore.  I'd give it to you but the shipping is probably more than a used coffee maker is worth.  Plus I bet it is pretty dusty by now.  It's not like I dust the top of my fridge.

I like it too, Lexxy. I'm on my second one. We wore out the first one. wink

I'm going to ponder this, for a bit.biggrin

My neighborhood is on lockdown. I'm literally 1/4 mile from the first scene, about 3/4 mile from the second scene. Choppers are in the air circling.

3 schools locked down, light rail disrupted. Can't leave my neighborhood as both routes out are cordoned off.

When they showed the aerial view, my house was visible. 3 friends called me to warn me.

We're hunkered down and I feel safe.

I don't hear the chopper anymore but haven't heard that they've apprehended the suspect.

I finally have my quilt top repaired! It has taken me as long to repair as it did to originally make the top.  no

I'm rather proud of myself. A year ago I would not have attempted to repair that much damage. I guess I have skills now.. wink

Five year old DGD found my shiny new sewing scissors and had some fun. evileye

She is forgiven.

It's funny how she confessed. Her mom had all five kids lined up and started asking each one, by name, if they did it. Before mom got to her name, she pipes up and says "maybe I did it" and then smiles. Guilty!

She is banned from my sewing room..and scissors.

At least she was honest, I have to give her that.

She turned five last month, so she's rather typical of a kid that age.

I could tell right away it had to have been her. Little snips all over and then a jagged chunk. Oy no

DH said I should put this quilt away and give it to her for her graduation present along with a note. I like the idea. wink

I'm sorry she damaged it but her admission is funny.  I'm glad you were able to fix it.  I know you put a lot of work into it.

When I was about her age I took my mom's sewing scissors & gave myself a haircut.  Apparently I didn't like my bangs & cut them all the way off at my forehead.

My day blew. Glad work is over. Bible study tonight. I have no idea what I'm bringing. I'm thinking chicken wings. Or egg rolls. Or something else that's easy to pick up.

She did that last week at pre-school. Her teacher was not happy. no

Four, five and six years olds are fascinated by scissors.

Well..... I guess I am too. Especially shiny new ones. biggrin

Well then I guess that is typical behavior for the age.

I don't have sewing scissors but I can respect a good pair of scissors.  Our cheap orange handled scissors at work never work for shyt so I bought myself a pair of titanium ones.  They rock!  I don't really need them that often but they work great when I do.

I'll take it.  Right now I keep my house at 64 & wear a thin cotton gown while watching tv & sometimes still overheat.  In the summer I can't get my house below 70 no matter where I set the thermostat (except the basement that is a meat locker).  I am miserable all summer.  If I was smart I'd move the cable box to the basement during the summer but the tv is smaller & the furniture isn't as comfy.  I do take field trips down there to cool off.

I remember those years. no  It will pass and then you will wonder what the hell you were thinking, as you freeze to death in 90 degree weather. Yup, that's where I am at. I wear sweaters in the summer. no

Don't I know it... I also have a fan that clips onto my desk. I was sitting here the other day in a hoodie with the fan on.  A coworker laughed at me.  I told him wait 5 minutes and I would be freezing. That poor fan.  On, off, on, off, on off.....

Speaking of scissors... My grandmother taught me how to crochet. She died when I was 10, and even at that age, I wanted her scissors. I still have them and right now, I am making my grandson's blanket using her scissors. I know its crazy, but I feel a generational connection, making something for him that was used so very long ago....

Ok, well, the beans are edible. I put them back on low while I was at work, and while the liquid didn't really reduce thre is a bit of a thickness to it. Whatever. Tastes like beans and ham.
