But the partition plan vote on by the UN was actually never implemented. It was forestalled by the Arab-Israeli Civil War.
It was approved by the UN and accepted by Israel. Israel declared independence shortly thereafter. The Arabs rejected it and attacked starting the war. Israel won that war. Fighting has continued on and off for decades.
But the partition plan is a standing, approved, UN resolution that passed on November 29, 1947. It has never been revoked.

Oh, I agree that this is the fault of the Arabs--both inside of Palestine and out.
It's not as simple a matter of just enforcing a decades old UN resolution at this point, however.
Well, I would have felt SOME sympathy for the Arabs, it's not fun having your country split in two. But, not anymore. It is what it was and is, and continuing to kill people over it for decades is unacceptable. But the UN resolution is what gives Israel's claim validity, so it should not be ignored.
