Daffs aren't up yet here. Just poking up through the mulch. Same with my Irises. I can't grow tulips. The pesky little squirrels always steal the bulbs. They don't take others, just tulips.
My irises will be early May. My squirrels love the tulip bulbs too! But I finally outwitted them by keeping screen over the soil so they can't dig them up. At least so far, keeping my fingers crossed.
My neighbor hung a big plastic owl in his tree. Supposedly it frightens away the squirrels. It seemed to work because he had tulips, but the owl hanging from his tree wasn't all that attractive.
Do you gals grow tall summer flox? They are one of my favorites & Lilies. I love Delphinium too but can't grow them here because it doesn't stay cold enough long enough. I bet Blankie could grow them nicely.
I've never tried delphiniums. The pictures look beautiful though. I should see if they would work in my zone.
I do have lots of day lilies.

They should you have long cold winters. They thrive in European countries. My roommate weeded my flower bed & mulched a few years ago & pulled up my day lilies thinking they were grass. I only had 3 of them but they were a beautiful dark maroon color.

Our daffodils are in full bloom. So are the trees, grass, and other early Spring things. The birds are out. There are a dozen or more of the finches in our front yard.

I don't really like it either. He battered it in cornmeal (instead of flour because of our gluten free son) and fried it. It was okay. I ate it. I'm not a big fan. It wasn't bad though. I did laugh at him because he tried to feed the dogs the raw fish parts and they spit it out. But after it was all fried up they were begging for some.

I don't see how that matters. If there WERE patrons there, you'd have to be dealing with their noise. Your job just doesn't have a reasonable expectation of peace and quiet.
