Might get some rain later but right now the birds are singing!
Wishing everyone the best day ever!

I would love a gas range. But no. So I looked at flat tops but have to get a traditional one due to the amount of Le Crueset, and iron I cook with. Himself says I'll crack a flat top.

I love my gas cooktop! I feel for you, Trudy. I hope you find something you like.
Dying for gas. But that'd be a huge drama. Ugh. Of course everyone wants to help. But I'll go with what I'll be happy with. Chrome, black, white...Argh!
Windy here, and a cold front rolled through. Only a high around 64 today. It sucks, we were in the 80's the past couple of days.
Oh well, with any luck, this will be our last cold front until fall.
Is that an Eastern Bluebird in your new avatar? It's really pretty!
I am not sure. It looks just like the one living in the bird house in our yard.
I guess it is.

I really liked cooking with gas. Had it in my place and it was awesome. I will admit it did make me nervous at first. I had never had gas before so there was a learning curve.
We are cooling off a bit too. Either Friday or Saterday night, it is going down to 29 again. But then that should be the last of it this year.
Looking forward to Easter.

Most of the country drives during an eastern North American summer will turn up a few Eastern Bluebirds sitting on telephone wires or perched atop a nest box, calling out in a short, wavering voice or abruptly dropping to the ground after an insect. Marvelous birds to capture in your binoculars, male Eastern Bluebirds are a brilliant royal blue on the back and head, and warm red-brown on the breast. Blue tinges in the wings and tail give the grayer females an elegant look.
The Eastern Bluebird is a small thrush with a big, rounded head, large eye, plump body, and alert posture. The wings are long, but the tail and legs are fairly short. The bill is short and straight.
Color Pattern
Male Eastern Bluebirds are vivid, deep blue above and rusty or brick-red on the throat and breast. Blue in birds always depends on the light, and males often look plain gray-brown from a distance. Females are grayish above with bluish wings and tail, and a subdued orange-brown breast.
Behavior
Eastern Bluebirds perch erect on wires, posts, and low branches in open country, scanning the ground for prey. They feed by dropping to the ground onto insects or, in fall and winter, by perching on fruiting trees to gulp down berries. Bluebirds commonly use nest boxes as well as old woodpecker holes.
Habitat
Eastern Bluebirds live in meadows and openings surrounded by trees that offer suitable nest holes. With the proliferation of nest boxes and bluebird trails, bluebirds are now a common sight along roads, field edges, golf courses, and other open areas.

I want to download the app to my phone. I guess it will identify birds by their call/song. That would be handy to have, when you can hear them, but you're not able to get a good look at them.
The thing with all my phones, the voice or sound recognition feature doesn't work half the time. Even Siri has trouble "hearing" me.

It is cool & drizzly here but I need to go to the bank today. I have two paychecks in my desk drawer & practically no money in my account. I so wish we had direct deposit. My loathing of waiting in bank lines is going to find me overdrawn some day.
Lexxy, I used to mail my checks to the bank with a deposit slip. There were times when it didn't get deposited before the house payment cleared. I'd get a call from my father (the bank's manager), K, we have a problem. "But it's in the mail!" LOL
Take your Child to Work Day registration starts at noon. With rain and registration, I'll be staying in at lunch.

Wow, Lexxy. Many employers here require direct deposit.

flan
We are so small the bank wanted a fee so we don't do it.
FNW I would never think of mailing my deposit. I'd be afraid it would get lost.
We are having Taco Bell for lunch today. It was decided yesterday. I can't wait but it isn't even 11:00 here.
Oh my, taco bell sounds good. I may need to change my plans. Depends on the weather. It has been raining like crazy and I can't find my umbrella
Between the house and my car, I have (I think) 8 umbrellas. I can usually find 3 or 4 at any time.
Of course, umbrellas are very elusive critters, skilled at hiding and at escaping into the wild.
LOL, I have a huge golf umbrella that was a give me from one of our companies that is still in the plastic in the back seat of my car. I never use umbrellas. They seem more trouble than they are worth. I always seem to get drenched trying to close it. I just run for it but I don't have far from car to doorstep either at home or the office.

So I'm NOT the only person in the world who feels this way! Messing around trying to get into the car while struggling to close the umbrella, all in the pouring rain - forget it! I'm better off without.

I have an umbrella in my car...where it stays nice and warm and dry...LOL

I kind of think it's silly. It's just water. Unless I am going somewhere fancy, it's just not a big deal. It's water, it will dry.

We forgot Demonia's birthday? HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEMONIA!
We didn't forget, Blankie. It's not on the calendar. (If folks don't put their birthday in their profile, it doesn't show up on the calendar.) I'm going to go add it manually now, so I will know next year.
Where my old office was, I didn't worry about an umbrella. I parked steps from the door. But now, it's a good 5-10 minute walk to the main building and the parking lot is outside that. No way I'm making that walk in the pouring rain with no umbrella
I'm not sure where the bugger got to. I had it yesterday but I couldn't find it in the car this morning. So I figured I left it in my office. But it's not here either. Strange.

Sorry, wasn't meaning it as a diss, FWM. You mods do a good job.

I didn't think you did, Blankie.
That was more of a reminder for folks to check their profile. If you want your birthday to show up on the calendar, add it, please. (If you want to keep you age a secret, just put in a funny birth year, like 1776!)

Good reminder. I'm checking mine now.

Oh I have bought them. Can keep them handy until the very second I need it. Then it is no where to be found.
If need be, If I were out and it starts raining, I could be mean and take one of the ten that people always leaves just inside the door at businesses.
Just kidding. I wouldn't do that.

I don't use umbrellas. I have one in my truck that I used to shield my backpack from rain so my books didn't get wet when I was in school but I don't bother with one for myself. I'm too ornery to melt
