I am almost finished with my orange/lemon/grapefruit marmalade. Tomorrow while DH is fishing I will make a final loaf of bread for women's group. I'm taking two loaves of bread and a jar of marmalade and a jar of jelly.

Here's what I do at night. You can check out the time on the clock!

Start with clean fresh fruit.

Separate the peels from the pith.

Put the peels and the pulp in boiling water.

After an hour add sugar. After another hour it goes in jars. It comes out of the canner like this.

Ordered Js cookie cake. Did you know you can order from the Great American Cookie Company online? I didn't until late last night. Now I don't have to call later and do it.

Operation balloon man kind of turned out. C got most of the balloons in Js room but of course this is the one morning out of a 100 that he wakes up early. So he turned the tables on her. When she went out to get another arm load of balloons, he snuck behind his door and scared her when she came back in. But he is very happy she was trying to do this for him. Now he has a room full of balloons to get rid of.

If I had known what she was going to do, I would have gotten his bday money in ones and put one in each balloon. He has said all he wants this year for anything is money. I think he is wanting to save for a car.

NJN, your marmalade looks good.

March is going out like a lion here. Thunderstorms possible today.

I risked getting a fine by running my sprinklers for 2 minutes in each zone. Just to get the grass damp so the fertilizer will stick. (My days to water are Sunday and Thursday, so, I broke the law!)

LOL! Now, here's the funny part.

I could have gotten out the hose, and watered the yard by hand. (You can hand water, anytime. It's sprinkler use that is restricted.)

I'm getting lazy in my old age. It was easier to take my chances and run to sprinklers for 2 minutes in each zone, rather than do it the legal way!

We've been under water restrictions for a few years, now. Year round.

Even with all the rain we've been getting, the lakes are still low. We are not caught up yet.

I seriously make the best bread. I am taking a sourdough loaf and a regular loaf to women's group along with marmalade and jelly. They are constantly requesting I make things. It was bread this month. They loved my King Ranch Chicken but I'm thinking my mac and cheese next month. I don't think many of them cook.
