What? That it's cold at 65 inside the house? I can take it, but DH...not so much...

You're tougher than me flan. It was 71 inside our house this morning. I went back to heat. (Heat is set at 73. I can't stand it any lower than that.)

We keep it at 68...Darn electric heat is worthless AND $$$$.

flan

p.s. Wait until the hot flashes start!!

LOL........I'm 55. Been flashin' for a couple of years, now. Still, I can't stand the cold. When my feet get cold, I'm miserable.

Our heat is natural gas, to it's pretty cheap. We rarely hit $200 in the Winter. smile

Been having major hot flashes. Nothing like sitting in a cool room and flashing so bad your shins are sweating.

You probably know this, but they sell cold packs that you can put on the back of your neck. They helped a bit.

Where can I buy those? Sometimes the flash is so hot my glasses will fog over.

Lindley, any drug store would have them. I think you can get them at Walmart, too.

The gel pack goes in the freezer, and you slip it into a sleeve, that has Velcro, to keep it in place. (It looks like a tube sock, kind of.)

I remember buying them, when Conor had a wisdom tooth removed.

They work on different parts of the body, and are pretty handy to keep around. smile

Making my late dear MIL's recipe for Golden Turkey Bake - using leftovers from yesterday's Trash Can Turkey. DH's son didn't believe a 12# turkey would be fully cooked in 90 minutes - he belives now! We had dinner for 6 yesterday; turkey noodle soup from the carcass at lunch today, and Mom's casserole tomorrow.
I opted out of doing the flowers for Church tomorrow - DH's son is coming from out of state - haven't seen him in over a year - and he wants to go fishing with us.

I had all the family over today for Easter dinner. Made brisket, baked beans, greenbeans, and other good stuff. Kids hunted Easter eggs. It was fun.

Tommorrow brunch with son and daughter in law after Church

You're welcome. Back when I was still mowing the lawn, I would put one around my neck, to help keep me cool during the heat of summer. (Summer in Texas, can get pretty hot!)

In a pinch, just grab a bag of frozen veggies, like corn, or peas, out of the freezer, wrap it in a dish towel, and use it like an ice pack.

Peas, Yuk! I won't eat them, but, I would use them as an ice pack. So, they serve a purpose!wink

The ones I found were disposable, but I like FWM's kind better.

You could try the Be Cool Fever packs meant for kids. They are sticky and cool, just stick it to the back of you neck or wherever. I don't think they are reusable though.
