Of course I don't think they would have been that close to the knives.

Other than that, it would have been better than the high chair they liked to try to climb on to help.
I put C's little kitchen set in the kitchen. She got to do all the mixing and stuff. It was fun.
Girl makes better biscuits than me.

I got the best hard candies! Found them at Hobby Lobby. Claeys old fashion hard candies. Got both root beer and lemon. Both are so good.

O4 how is the job market in your area? Were the layoffs a complete surprise, although I realize even if not a surprise they were still there to the end which means they don't have another job to go to just yet. Sucks.

It's ok. I couldn't see it at first. I found it in the article I got the pictures from.

Me either. But I saw her on another board more recently.

Today was Layla's appointment. We really really liked this vet. He came pretty well recommended. They did all the procedures with us in the room. The only time they took them out was to weigh them. We had Carlee with us to get her nails trimmed. The vet feels like it's allergies. He said we did good putting them on special food. HOWEVER, he said that if she has a food allergy even the "good" foods are not good for those dogs. They sell a prescription dog food with the proteins already broken down. We've read about this so it made sense. Also, and this made sense to us since we have a gluten intolerant son, he said that even though all those dog foods are gluten free, soy free, corn free and all that other stuff they're still produced in factories that make dog food that has that stuff in it so it gets in there anyway. He said for normal dogs it's good for upset tummies but for seriously allergic dogs it won't work. But he doesn't want us to start with the dog food.
He did skin scrapings today. I felt so bad for her. He actually shaved off some of her skin. He took samples of her hair and scrapings of stuff. Turns out she has a skin fungus. But he doesn't know if the fungus is from an allergic reaction which causes her to scratch or if the allergy causes her to scratch and it got a fungus from scratching. So we have some shampoo for her. It's anti-fungal and we have to bathe her every day for a week, then every other day, then twice a week, then once a week, then once every two weeks, and from then on once a month.
He also started her on Prednisone which is a steroid and also an antibiotic. She has to be on those long term for awhile. I told him I thought she might be allergic to grass and he said that is more common than we think. He said what happens is that all the pollen is dropped in the grass and when they cut the grass it stirs it all up. Then she has a flare up.
We are going to take her in every two weeks for awhile and monitor the itching. We have to call every third day and report in on her itching. He certainly seems to care. He doesn't recommend jumping to the extreme treatments right away. I like that.
Anyway, tomorrow is the pain doctor and the next day is child support court. I'm ironing my sweats for that!

Thanks Lindley. She's almost bald on her belly now. She has bald raccoon eyes and a bald spot on her head. We really like this doctor. He doesn't recommend extreme treatments right away. I like when doctors don't want to charge you for everything. They tested her for scabies, mites, and ringworm. Also a yeast infection. It was all negative. They're good dogs. We don't want her to suffer with the itching anymore.
