I'm using stuff like this to keep me going (and the patch) . . .
48 Hours After You Quit
It may not be life-threatening, but deadened senses—specifically, smell and taste—are one of the more obvious consequences of smoking. Luckily, after 48 hours without a cigarette, your nerve endings will start to re-grow, and your ability to smell and taste is enhanced (Cleveland Clinic, 2007). In just a little while longer, you'll be better appreciating the finer things in life.
I have heard so many people who quit smoking say they can smell and taste so much better!

Breaking the habit of smoking, lighting up in the car, smoking after eating, you know those times you light up, is what I had the hardest time with.
I'll say a prayer for strength for you.
You totally got this!

They ran out of office space in our main building. So my department is in a double wide trailer in the yard. I am in one of four offices. Right now, I am the only one in the trailer. Which is NOT helping my motivation. I don't want to do this mindless crap they gave me in the first place. And right now, I don't even have to pretend to work. Sigh. Can I go back to my life now??
Because I am 48 hours smoke free. Not sure if I like it.
That's wonderful! The first 48 hours are the toughest. Now, it's out of your body and all mental. You can do it!!!! It takes 21 days to change a habit for good, and now you are down to 19.

Do you have a hand craft (knit, crochet, etc.) that you can throw down on an instant's notice? If you're the only one there, you should be able to hear someone approaching and "look" busy!
Tig ~
WAY TO GO! So so proud of you! Today will probably be the most difficult - if you can get through it, you're over the hump.
On my Sweet 16th birthday, the only gift I asked for was for my father to stop smoking. He had smoked Camels, Chesterfields, Pall Malls - all with no filter - for over 40 years - at least 3 packs a day. I had NOOOO idea what I was asking him to do would be so difficult. A couple of weeks later, he put down a half-smoked cigarette, and said "that's my last one" - and it was! I was so proud of him! That was the best gift I could have received.
No crafts. My crafting failures are epic. I have work to do. Mindless editing and data entry that I'm confident my 5-year-old nephew could handle. My company is weathering a storm (so to speak). I have been temporarily reassigned to a different department until things pick back up. I really really liked my job. This one, I tolerate. I just want to go back to my job, at my desk, in my department.

Good luck with the not smoking. I found that the hardest times were the 48-72 hour mark and right around the two week mark. It's been 1181 days since my last one. I still want one but am stronger than that expensive small thing.
My problem isn't lack of things to do. It's lack of motivation to do those things.
I want to go back to sales. I saw my former boss this morning. I asked if I got to come back yet. He said he's working on it and he hopes soon.
It's a shame that you can't do what you do best. I know you're a team player, but your talents are being wasted.
Hang in there!

That's kinda how I feel. And I have to sit here and watch all the stuff I worked so hard on get not done and/or half-assed because no one else knows how to do it or has time. It's so frustrating
And I was supposed to meet a friend for lunch. I was really looking forward to it, I could really use a hug this week. But he just bailed on me. I feel like I might cry again.

I now have brand new tires! It's like driving a new car.
Tons and tons of sunshine today.
DG, fresh flowers and plants. It will help your mood. And give yourself incentives. Work for a solid hour, take 10 minutes outside. Plan lunches at parks. Put on some motivational music.
I need a nap.

It was good. Totally not on my diet comfort food. And a whole hour alone with my book. There was another lady from my company there, but I pretended to be digging in my purse when I walked by her table. Bad DG
60 hours. I think I had a reaction to the patch last night - some nasty dizziness. Took it off and chucked it across the room and finally fell asleep around 2am.
I think it's just the behavioral and social stuff I am dealing with right now because of the patch. Sometimes I just want a damn cigarette!! Maybe today I will clean all the empty packs out of the side door pocket of my car. That might make me feel better.
DG - I'm sorry that this temp transfer isn't working out. I hate manual data entry. Can you spend the day watching netflix on your phone while you do it?

I listen to music. That's the best I get. I guess things are getting shuffled around a little bit again. It sounds like I might be getting more actual responsibility. But again, I don't really want it. I don't want to expend all the effort learning all this new stuff just to get moved back in a couple months. Seems a bit of a waste. Oh well.
I got interrupted. I officially have a "new boss". And I am apparently what she used to be. I know that's totally confusing with out more details. She is all gung-ho to get my office cleaned up so it's an actual office (instead of the storage room with a table it currently is). I'm not totally sure how I feel about this. Real work and responsibility is good. But I still don't want to be in this department long term.
Leaving for the pain doctor in a bit. And I talked to FWM last night. She's doing really well. She's a bit worried about the weather today. She expects to get in by two.

One year my dad promised us kids he would quit smoking on his birthday. And he did... ON his birthday...

My Dad did the same thing. Just woke up one day and was like, okay - I'm done.....
Congratulations Tignanello Not only will you be healthier and be able to smell and taste better think of the money you will be saving not spending it on cigarettes.

My pawpaw did that. He went to get a pack of smokes from the store, they were out of his brand and said that was time he quit any way.
He was smoke free for about 3 years.

I'm taking about that you will be able to smell aromas better not you will smell better.
