It is.  A tow truck employee provoked a semi-famous person into a tirade, caught it on video, and edited the video so they could profit.  It's absolutely fishy.

You have proof that the tow truck employee KNEW who she was? She didn't look anything like a reporter.

They don't say, but my bet is that the tow company isn't releasing the video because the employee in question knows darn well what is on it--and she doesn't want it to come out.

If they can keep it "in house" and the whole thing goes away in a week after McHenry's suspension--then it's over and life goes on.

If they whole video comes out, the tow company will likely be forced to take action against the employee--either a suspension or firing.

She undoubtedly had to give her ID to the employee in order to get the car back.

Plus, the license plate on the car would give away the owner.

Plus, if she were just some Hooter's waitress--no one would care and no one would pay for the video.

We don't know that for sure.  And it would do the company no good to hide the video.  If the employee released the video the company would actually benefit from releasing the whole thing and then releasing a statement that said something to the effect of:  We do not condone, accept, or approve of the actions of our employee toward Miss Henry.  We also did not release the first video.  It was stolen and highly edited by our employee to make Miss Henry look bad.  Because of these instances we have fired this employee and we offer our profuse apologies to Miss Henry.

Now the towing company looks innocent.  And why is Miss Henry, who had a mouthful to say at first, now remaining stone cold silent on this subject?  For someone who has a decidedly short fuse she has said nothing about being "wronged" by the towing company.

Sorry, I'm just not buying all this "Oh it's entirely the fault of the towing company".

And we DON'T have proof the employee acted like that. Even Miss Henry hasn't said she was treated badly by the employee. She just made personal insults to her because her car got towed. I think that would have been something I would have mentioned in a press release.

She would have needed video proof to make that statement. She doesn't have it.

She doesn't need proof to accuse someone of something.  If I were her and saw that supposedly edited video I would be screaming for them to show the whole entire video and not just clips of me.  And I would be screaming loudly.  She has remained silent.

When things are getting unpleasant, a person's attitude and words can either defuse the situation, or escalate it.

If someone actually wants the other person to do something for them, escalating the anger will NOT get them what they want.

Defusing might not either, but ... then again sometimes it DOES.

You know, time and again I hear adults complaining and whining and griping about where kids learn to be bullies and how said it is that they totally demean each other and think nothing of it. Gee, I wonder where they learn this behavior.

The car may have been registered with her employer. We don't know that for sure, but it is possible.

What would be the point of doing it with some Joe Schmoe who works in a factory? That wouldn't make you any money. There is nothing in the video that would be actionable in court. It's not illegal to be a jerk.

It could be--but more likely she recognized the name, or, if not her, some of her co-workers recognized the name and it was office gossip that they had towed the car of an ESPN reporter.

Now that I would believe. The time lapse between the incident and the release of the video would support that conclusion. IMHO

I think the reporter is about 52% to blame. She likely wasn't in a good mood--who is when they go to the tow yard to get their car that they didn't think should have been towed in the first place? She said something in the video about the two truck company just taking people's money or whatever.

I just think the rest of it was a give and take between McHenry and the reporter. So I think the reporter is 48% to blame.

I think firing anyone over this would be ridiculous, though. Crap happens. Get over it. Not everyone you encounter is going to be nice--no matter which side of the counter you are on.

So the new theory is that this tow truck employee googles everyone who goes there because she was just waiting for an opportunity to catch someone famous and blackmail them? Or does she google every single customer and see if they are someone famous so she can blackmail them?

So I went looking for actual facts on this case. You know, those things that are really true and not some gossip or something that people THINK might have happened. Here are some actual true facts.

The video WAS NOT released by an employee.
The video WAS NOT stolen by the single mother of three.
The video WAS NOT edited by the employee.
The video WAS NOT SOLD by the employee.
The video WAS, in fact, edited by the towing company who then leaked it to the press free of charge. Why? For publicity.
The towing company has an enormously bad BBB rating with tons of complaints against them.
There have been many complaints of a MALE tow truck employee making racial slurs and cursing at customers.
They have been accused, but not proven, of towing cars illegally.
They have, on two occasions, towed cars with infants left in the cars while the parents went in the store to do shopping.
The reporters car WAS illegally parked. It was left in a restaurant right next to a sign that said, "Anyone leaving their vehicle here overnight will be towed." She left her car and called the restaurant the next day to make arrangements to come pick up the car and they informed her that they had had her car towed.
She stated that she was a reporter and didn't think they'd tow her car.
She has already been disciplined by ESPN three other times for this exact behavior.
While working on the Palin/Biden campaign she was politely asked to not work with them anymore as she was making disparaging remarks about Palin in front of audiences.
She had several complaints in college about her behavior. She was once asked to do a group project with some classmates and refused saying she wouldn't work with people from a certain neighborhood. (Meaning a poorer one.)

One person spewing garbage does not entitle the other person to do the same, IMHO.

When both people are spewing garbage at each other - the person releasing the tape to the public to ruin someone is the worst offender.

You know, time and again I hear adults complaining and whining and griping about where kids learn to be bullies and how said it is that they totally demean each other and think nothing of it. Gee, I wonder where they learn this behavior.

And time and time again kids are taught to stand up to bullies.  So the question is, who was being the bigger bitch first?

If I could hear the other lady I'd probably say they both were bitches and they both gave out what they got.  I don't really think it's a matter of who was the bigger bitch first.  They were both just as bad.  Either one of them could have chosen the high road.

Can you give us a link to this information please.

Sure. I'll have to go back and get them. I surfed for about an hour. It's not hard to find them. Apparently the reporter has quite a bad history. As does the towing company. I didn't post them because there were so many of them.

Oh, and I'm not saying the lady didn't curse the reporter. Just so far we don't have the unedited video. I'd really like to hear that. But overall I think the towing company, unsure but I think owned by a man, is pretty crappy.

Are you referring to the reporter?

From the list NJN posted, I think she has made a lot of mistakes. The reporter that is.

Well, IF the employee cursed her out then they both need to be at least suspended. Personally, I don't really care what happens to the reporter because it sounds like she's on self destruct mode and sooner or later she will end up in a situation she can't get herself out of.
