 Niether am I.

I honestly don't understand why some people think it's hard to match your behavior to the setting.

Example:

I cuss. I cuss a lot...EXCEPT around my dear friend L, who is very conservative. I cuss around my boys but never when Itty bitty is there.

Do people really lack an internal compass?

flan

The problem is that you somehow think it's not ok to respond in kind.  Yes, she COULD have taken the high road, but the fact that she didn't doesn't not mean she should be tarred and feathered.  Hell, she didn't even CUSS at the woman - and I know that is such a problem for some of you.   This was a bitchfest between 2 grown women and nobody else's business.

Why some people are expected to just sit back and take being treated badly is beyond me.  But I see it a lot - you expect "MORE" of certain people just because they are prettier, more successful, or somehow just should behave better, IYO, while not holding yourself to the same standard.

As most of us do.  The tow company woman gets to be a bully because of her job.  But you keep ignoring that there were TWO people involved, and you are only holding ONE responsible, and it's because she's pretty and on TV.

the video is edited but my guess would be the tow company employee was responding in kind.  Since she is an employee she should have taken the higher road.

EXACTLY.  If anyone should have been expected to take the high road, it should be the one who was actually working at the time.

Except that those were un-provoked attacks on people taking the high road.  Not really the same.

The Chik fil a was, he even posted the video himself.  The woman at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers was giving the finger to  a sign.

Just an FYI, the guy who video tapped himself going off on the Chick-Fil-A girl and all she did was stand there and smile and be nice? Yep. He got fired from his job. He's now on food stamps. He's married and has three kids. He's asking for donations to help him. He claims he can't get hired on anywhere because that video that HE aired puts him in a bad light. But he's also a CEO and apparently his resume is filled with questionable activity. This wasn't the first time he has been fired from a job. And that's the point. People that act like THAT are usually not having a bad day. Having a bad day is using a swear word like, "Fvck this whole situation. My whole damn day has been ruined by this chit." People who make personal attacks on others well, that's a personality thing. That's who they are as a person. And it will keep resurfacing.

She has a history of "bitch" moments.  ESPN has suspended her three times before this for "bitch" moments.  So apparently she hasn't learned.  She was also kicked off the Biden/Palin campaign for having "bitch" moments.  And, according to her professors, she had many "bitch" moments in college.  A current theme that seems to run through her life is that she believes she is prettier, smarter, and just overall better than the average person.

I thought she just might be having a bad day and threw down the I'm a Reporter card to help herself out.  No harm in that.  I honestly thought she might have had her car towed illegally.  Then I did some digging.  I came to learn that the majority of the people around her describe her as self centered and uppity.  I don't really care what ESPN does with her or to her.  I don't care if she's prettier than me or skinnier than me.  I wish ESPN all the best of luck dealing with that ticking time bomb.

I'm not sure why everyone is looking to place blame or who was more wrong or whatever. They were both wrong IMO. The tow clerk had a responsibility to be nice because this was a customer. So yes, she was to blame because of that. However, with some jobs you are more high profile than others unfortunately. It's life. And because of that people will judge you more harshly. Is it fair? Probably not. But if you haven't learned by the time you become an adult that life isn't always fair you're in for a rude awakening.

Well, LGS, that puts a whole new spin on it. If bitchiness is a gene and she can't help it maybe she's disabled in the sense that bitchiness is a disability. So maybe she did have a legal right to park illegally.

Flan is right though. If you are well known in the community or country you do need to be careful how you act and treat people.  You are still representing the company you work for.  Example the man who slapped the toddler on a flight that made the news his company fired him.  He wasn't even a public figure but he made the news.

Exactly.  Some jobs are more high profile than others.  If you're a garbage man people probably don't care what you do in your private life.  Politicians?  We sure do.  It's just life.  Some jobs get more visibility than others.

And it's kind of unfair to attack flan.  What she did she did in private.  Well, at the library after hours when it was closed and in an office.  Not exactly where everyone in the world could see.  So not the same exactly!

Except that those were un-provoked attacks on people taking the high road.  Not really the same.

The Chik fil a was, he even posted the video himself.  The woman at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers was giving the finger to  a sign.

I don't remember the tomb one.

Because HE posted it.  No one filmed him.  He posted himself being a fool...

Why yes.  Yes he did!  I never said he didn't nor do I disagree with that.  He was an idiot.  And he got fired because he was an idiot.  Of course, that's JMO.

He claims he can't get work because of the video.  But he said he set up a GoFundMe account where people can go donate to him.  No lie.  I saw him on an interview.  It was hilarious.  So by all means everyone go donate!

And apparently he too has a history of this kind of behavior and has been fired from  several jobs.  The reporter was saying that his job history is pretty revealing.  I think people like him and Britt McHenry just have character flaws and this is how they are.  They just are that way.  You can argue it till the day is long but there are just nasty hateful mean people in the world and these are two of them.  They are their own worst enemies.

I am sure her photo was unedited though

The two women that came under fire after their photo at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia angered thousands of people on Facebook have been officially fired from their jobs.

Lindsey Stone, 30, and Jamie Schuh, who took the photo, were at first placed on unpaid leave by a non-profit, LIFE Inc., based in Hyannis, Mass., which helps adults with special needs.  But the organization announced via its Facebook page last night that the pair had officially been discharged from their positions:
“We wish to announce that the two employees recently involved in the Arlington Cemetery incident are no longer employees of LIFE. Again, we deeply regret any disrespect to members of the military and their families. The incident and publicity has been very upsetting to the learning disabled population we serve. To protect our residents, any comments, however well-intentioned, will be deleted. We appreciate your concern and understanding as we focus on the care of our community.”
In the photo, Stone is pretending to yell and she’s showing her middle finger.  The photo, taken by co-worker Jamie Schuh, went viral and sparked anger among veterans.

No.  This was really really really stupid.  I can tolerate dumb questions.  There's a lot I can tolerate.  But there's a point that comes that I have to say enough.

No.  Here's the deal.  I belong to a local online mom's group.  I really like it.  Not just for parenting issues but they also will talk about doctors they like or dislike, people who do things like house painting, mowing, photography, and so on.  It's a valuable resource of info.  So this one chick came on and posted her sonogram.  She said her husband was a twin and in her sonogram her BFF said she thought she saw two babies but her doctor only saw one.  She wanted everyone to tell her whether her doctor was right or wrong.  I posted that if she needed a second opinion that maybe she should get one from a DOCTOR and not from a message board.  She got really angry with me and called me a mean girl.  I told her I was an RN and that she should really consult a doctor.  She said she had but she didn't believe him.  (I think the crux of the matter was she was secretly WANTING twins and wanting validation.)  She said it was a board and if I wanted to be rude I could keep my mouth shut.  I said I wasn't being rude.  If you need opinions on potty training, getting your baby to sleep, colic, or teething you come here.  If you have health concerns you go to the doctor.  Then a bunch of others jumped on me and said I was a mean girl too.  Then the OP said I made her cry so even more people said I was a mean girl.  Well, one of the group rules is no drama or you will be deleted.  I notified the admin.  Someone got deleted.  Not me.
