I have been up for an hour. Not a happy camper since I stayed up very late. Weather is sunny and chilly, high of mid 50s.

I think I got enough schoolwork done to take most of today off. Anyone want to read a paper about grief, bereavement and prolonged grief disorder? If I am bored and have some downtime, I will start highlighting the legislative act for my Social Policy class.

My trunk is filled with several boxes of papers of MIL&FIL to be shredded. There is a shredding event not far from here. Then as a reward, breakfast out!

This afternoon, there is the civil war re-enactment. DH will go without me if I decide to stay home. House will be rattling anyway from the artillery.

Maybe a nap in there.

I have to get in the shower soon and get to Sam's Club to get my membership. I let my BJ's membership expire a few months ago. I was just about to go renew that when a Groupon offer came out. It's the Sam's Club elite membership for $45 plus you get a $20 gift card and $24.97 in coupons for free items I use. That makes my one year membership cost .03.

PM me your email if you really want to read it.  I'm not going to submit it until Monday.

I really don't like one of my teachers right now.  The final for that class is only available from Friday 11:59 pm until Sunday 11:59 pm. 48 hours.  Only available on a weekend?  The only one where I will be away and not sure of internet access?

Great deal on the Sam's club membership. I need to get over and renew mine. I have the student one that gives me back $25 of the $40. Work pays for BJs membership.

Here's to hoping everyone who needs it has a dry day. (I'm sending rain vibes to the drought areas tho).

FWM, extra sunshine so you can get your furniture.

You know, I may have DH sign up for this deal.  The only thing I won't use directly is the cupcake coupon.  But I'll take them to Lodge.

Funny thing is, I forget that Walmart and Sam's are the same company. The stores are so different. (At least around here) Sam's Clubs are clean, well lit, the people are happy and friendly and helpful. And even when there are big lines, they get you right through. And routinely open extra check outs. It's like night and day from our Walmarts

Am I miss moneybags or something? Two of my brothers keep asking me to help them financially. I made the mistake of telling them I have some savings for my car. Now I guess I'm supposed to be their personal banks.

Why do they need money? Are they likely to pay you back? I saw you mention that you will be working 7 10's to save up and to help them out, are they working as much to help themselves as you are working to help them?

Just because you have savings does not mean you don't need it.

I'm sorry, Vette.  I've been through that same thing and it IS hard.  My brother is done with that phase of his life now, but some years ago all I heard was, "we can't make the mortgage, we can't make this or that, we don't have food".  I wasn't rich by any means, but one pay day I felt compelled to put $60 cash in a card and send it to him.  He called me to thank me, and was quite sincere.... and then he told me that he and wifey had gone out to dinner on the money.  WTF?

Never did that one again. cry

Rained most of the morning.

Going to run the trash off while it's stopped.
More on the way.

I still have that sore throat and sinus crap going on. Probably should go to the doctor.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Ok the deal got even better today. I signed up for the Sam's MC and received a voucher for $40 of my purchase today if I spent $100. I will get cash back on that card for everything I spend. So I bought the individually wrapped Purdue Chicken breast, 8 lbs of Angus beef steak tips, a bathing suite, and a bunch of other stuff I needed. Of course I paid well more than $100, but got $60 off my bill. The only meats I will have to buy over the next 5 months is, zero! I had already done and order of burgers and seafood with Omaha Steaks so am all set. Will need to go to the local market for veggies and fruits and soaps and such.

Now, when will I try on that bathing suit???? Sigh...

This!  We love our Sams.  Even the bathrooms are clean.

And IKWTDS if you got the Elite Membership and buy a lot of stuff at Sams it will pay off in the long run.  We just went and bought $100 on cleaning stuff.  We had $70 in credits so we walked out of there paying $30.

Cleaned the grill, inside and out. So much grease. I didn't get the grates as clean as I would have liked to. Even though I scrape them every time I use the grill they were still gross. I've heard you can put them in your oven and turn the self cleaning on the oven and it will clean the grates. If it's as cold tonight as last night was, I think I may do that.

The baby birds in our washroom are out of the nest. I heard them squeaking, went out and 2 were in the floor. I could have picked them up. Mom and dad were on the rail watching me.

Of course I just left them alone. Opened the door a little more so they could get in and out easier.

I love birds. If I had my phone I would have taken a picture. I never have it at the right time.

I've heard if you put them in a trash bag with a cup of amonia, tie the trash bag and leave it overnight, everything should come off easily the next day.

You need to leave them outside, to try this.

I nearly passed out from the fumes, when I opened the bag.

And, I had it sitting outside, on my deck.

Much less hard on your eyes and lungs!
