lots of people have read the bible--doesn't automatically mean they comprehend its meaning--am no biblical scholar myself but nonetheless is clear as day to me that homosexuality is a sin

The conclusion I draw is that you've never even really read the Bible. Turn the other cheek doesn't mean turn a blind eye (to sin). - Tinydancer

I wasn't turning the other cheek to sin. I was turning the other cheek to Lawyerlady's insulting assessment of my amount of Biblical understanding. I was inviting her to continue insulting me and to continue to show her version of Christian values. You are free to continue to do so as well. I will turn my other cheek to you also.

I don't disagree. The Bible does state that homosexual sex is a sin. It also says to not judge others, but to love them and accept them. So, my take is don't participate in homosexual sex myself, but still love and accept sinners (even the homosexual ones) as flawed human beings worthy of love and acceptance.

As you obviously don't comprehend the Bible you are reading SO much LL was spot on with your grasp of how you interpret it. Seeing only the passages you want to see is really not reading at all.

"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." - New American Standard Version
Again, as has been pointed out multiple times, loving and accepting the sinner does NOT mean condoning the sin. - chef

And I am not suggesting condoning the sin. I am suggesting following the law (as commanded) and loving them as fellow human beings (also as commanded).
While ignoring the more pertinent parts of the Bible. For the final time (because it's like beating a head against a wall) - you do NOT get to ignore the parts of the Bible you don't like or don't agree with, and you have not addressed that at all - you just keep spouting off the verses you like without context. It is an ignorant use of Bible verses as argument.

Yes, it does. But, I'm done now - I will stop responding completely to anything he posts b/c it is a complete and utter waste of time and space, anyway.

So, only YOU know what Biblical love is? We seem to view "love" a bit differently. I don't do my child a favor when he/she is sinning and not help them get on a better path. I don't do an addict a favor to give them money and pat them on the back. True LOVE is working actively for the best interest of another whether or not they know about it or even like it.
Want to confuse love the sinner with accepting the sin.
Yes. The Bible does tell us to love the sinner
We are commanded to show the love of God to sinners.
And if you look closely at all those Bible verses that have been quoted you also see the other side of it.
"Go forth and sin no more"
"if they will not hear my word, shake the dust from your feet as you leave their house"
"be a light on a hill"
"separate yourself from the world"
There is more. Because while we are commanded to love each sinner, we are not commanded to accept the sin, participate in it or perpetuate it.

The law, at one time, required everyone bow to Nebachacnzer.
Now the Bible says to follow the law of man UNLESS it conflicts the law of God.
We know the story. The king threw them in the furnace.
So tell me, how far do you suggest following the law of man?
