What are you doing for your mom? 

Or other Mothers in your life?

 

Got my mom a pedicure and set of sent wax warmers. Cards.

I really don't want to spend hours waiting for a table Sunday.

DS has to work. Hopefully, DD will have a brand new baby and won't be up to celebrating. I will go to church with my mother at her church and then out to eat. G will be at his daughter's college graduation.

My Mom enjoys shopping for herself. Which reminds me, I need to put a check in her card, a get it in the mail!wink

Wayne will get me a card and flowers.

The kids will help him make dinner for me. (I don't like to fight the crowds, to go out to eat.)

It is usually a nice, relaxing day, for me.smile

Our mothers have long since passed, one stepmother left, and I sent her some Godiva truffles. I hate going out on Valentine's and Mother's Days, so we'll just stay home and relax. I invited a couple of friends over to dinner, waiting to see if they accept.

My sweet MIL sent me a Mother's Day card while DH and I were still engaged (he was a widower with 6 children) even though our wedding wasn't until November, and she called the kids and encouraged them to recognize me on Mother's Day. I send my 2 daughters with children cards on Mother's Day.

Will purchase a amazon gift card for my dd and I bought a figurine of a pregnant mom for my dil who is expecting. Sunday we will have son and dil over for lunch. Knowing my dil it would be festive

I don't acknowledge my mother on Mothers Day. Go ahead, flame away. DH doesn't send his step mom anything. I will wish his bio mom a Happy Mothers Day but in Spain Mother's Day is next week I believe. My kids already took me to lunch. We might get a small cake or something to celebrate on Sunday. It will be low key.

I will send my mom flowers and a nice card. We haven't spoken to my MIL in over 10 years and I wouldn't know how to contact her. Although she has googled DH , found his place of employment, and has sent him some odd trinkets to his work address. He threw them away. No clue what DDs have in store for me. I would be happy with a nice card.

Well I was on top of my game this year. Bought cards for my mother and had DD buy cards for both her GM's. Ex's mom just called me, she NEVER does that and was pleasant to me and asked to speak to DD, she received her card and was thrilled. I sent my mom a check for her travel account. I won't see her this w/e, probably not until Memorial Day W/e.

My kids have a whole w/e planned for me. DD just told me to stay in bed on Sunday, she and DS are going to do the early morning walk with the dog. Then I think we are going out to brunch. Saturday we all are going to a baseball game. I am thinking this my be my best w/e ever.

The IVF clinic that helped me get pregnant hosts a "baby reunion" on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend every year. Little stuffed animals are given to the kids, and photographers are there to take family portraits. There's a buffet line for the kids, at kid level with kid favorites, and another buffet for the adults. Clowns entertain, face painters are there, story time readers for the little ones, balloons made into whatever shapes the kids want, etc. We'll go there on Saturday.

 Thanks flan.  It's times like these I think about it and wonder if I made the right decision.  But then I realize I did.  This wasn't a little power struggle about small things.  This is about a lifetime of physical beatings and a mother who stills feels justified in taking part of them.
