My friend had her gender reveal party this morning. She's having a girl! She wanted a girl.

Yeah, it is. It's also nice for the kids. She has two step kids. Her step son is 12 and her step daughter is 8. Realistically her daughter will be more actively involved with the baby. I mean they both will love their new sibling but a boy of 12 is thinking of different things than a girl of 8. And MOST girls love babies. So I think it's really good.
I didn't go to the gender reveal party. She has three half sisters that are teenagers and they decided that they HAD to throw her a gender reveal party. She didn't even really want one but her teenage half sisters did so she let them. I thought it was sweet of her to go with the flow. I wish she hadn't planned it on Mothers Day. Especially since the party was an hour away.

I cried when the doctor called me to let me know the outcome of the genetic tests and the fact I was having a girl. It was a dream I had long ago abandoned.

Both girls and boys are fun in their own way. I love having a daughter. But I watch DH and how he responds to the boys as well as DN and there is a huge difference.

I was happy I had C first. I mean I am a female too. Figured it gave me an advantage.
But I was really happy when I had 2 boys. I was glad they would have each other for the guy stuff.
