Happy Mother's Day to all. DH gifted me a 6 month subscription world subscription to Ancestry.com. We pushed the start date of my subscription off until August - which is after the move, so I'll have time to get full use of it.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
I was taking classes at a college, and had a mad crush on a professor...Apparently he felt the same way...LOL
Somehow the Dean found out & there was going to be heck to pay.
Then a janitor pushed her down a flight of steps & she died.
Next, I was at a mall with 2 friends. It was late, I was tired, the place was closing. When we got to the parking lot, it was snowing. I couldn't find my car.
THEN DH pulls up in a convertible, with the top down. The car was full of snow. There were 2 young kids in the car as well. My friends could barely fit. On the way home, we crashed into another car...
My boys brought me breakfast in bed. Fried egg with hot sauce, half banana sliced up, and coffee. I didn't want to eat too much before the brunch.
#1 gave me some cute new shoes, and #2 gave me a purple plush throw blanket, in case the power goes out and I can stay warm. Purple because it's my favorite color. It's actually a nice deep, dark purple which is nice.
Hubby gave me two dozen roses.
Weird dreams, Flan. Ancestry is addicting, LL. Enjoy! I hope Wayne comes home safely. Enjoy your shopping spree, FWM!
Last night at Mass the priest had all the mothers stand up so he could bless us, and pray for those who are trying to become mothers. It was a nice touch.
Happy Mothers Day if you are a mother, mother-to-be, step-mother, pet-mother, sometime in the future mother or never a mother. We have all had a mother in our lives at some point. Celebrate the fact that you are alive because of her.
Today will hopefully be a quiet day. DH is still sleeping. I slept in until 9:00 after crashing at around 3:00. DH was probably up until 5:00. Saturday nights are our stay up late nights. DH is really a night owl and he gets his fix in that way. Oh wait, I hear movement from the bedroom.
DH will make breakfast. DSS will call at some point today, hopefully not real late.
Otherwise, it will be a normal day. Floors need cleaning, laundry needs finishing (still have those last two loads that never seems to end). Garden needs planting. No idea what to have for dinner other than potato salad.
Mere and Paul just surprised me with these! I hope I'll be able to get them into a pot on my patio, after I have lunch with NJN tomorrow. (We should get a one day break from the rain.)
In the mean time, I will share them with all the Geek Mom's today!
And those who are Aunts or cousins or any other female, thank you too. For baby sitting, caring, and helping love on the kids in your life.
I love the hydrangea. I have planted 2 and both died. I love them and would love to have some.
Hope everyone has a great day.

My boss' wife decided she didn't want their hydrangeas anymore. They dug them up and shared with us. The thing looked like a dead bush in a box. I guess it looked pretty bad, because the trash guy took it last week. It was sitting on the sidewalk and then it was gone lol
The first I planted in the wrong place, too much sun. It was scorched.
The second my dad planted it and basically buried it.
Neither stood a chance.
My grandmother had 4 huge bushes flanking her walkway. I remember being a little girl and feeling g like Alice between those huge blue blooms. It would have been completely normal to see a talking, smoking caterpillar.

Just took the dog for a long walk. Wow it is hot out there. I still have mulch to spread. I think I will do that soon, then take a cool shower. So happy DS put in all the window AC's yesterday, I will need them. It's 90 here.

I was a little bummed, I had big dreams for the bush. Of course, I probably would have killed in within the year so it's ok. I will focus my efforts on the forget me nots

I'm going to plant mine in a big pot, on the patio. It will only get about two hours of direct sun a day. The rest of the time, shade from the tree.
I hope it does okay. I've never planted on before.
Happy Mothers Day to me. My dog ate my tv remote over night.

Do you mind? No. Layla isn't sick. It's weird. I don't know what got into her. As long as we let her on the bed she's never done anything like this. Got up and the shrapnel from the remote was all over my bed. I have no idea what got into her.
The puppies have been acting strange lately. I'm seriously thinking they miss DH as weird as that sounds.

Heavens no, I don't mind!
It's been setting in a drawer for almost two years.
Awesome. I seriously don't know what Layla's problem is. DH needs to deal with her. Even Carlee has been weird lately.

Yeah, I know. Carlee doesn't want to sleep in the bed anymore. She looks for DH and then gets down and goes to DS's room. Layla has always been a daddy's girl.

I know exactly what I want in the pots on my deck but can't get them yet. House and deck will be power washed next w/e so when that is done I will do the plants on the deck.

Yes yes. She is a beast. When decides what she wants, she gets it. And there was no blaming the other dogs either. She looked up at us with a piece of remote case hanging from her lip.

Very hot here too. We were going to plant all the impatiens this afternoon. Might wait until tonight to plant, and take a cool drive along the beach instead.

Do what you want! It's Mother's Day and you've certainly earned it.

Thanks blankie! I sure hope I don't kill it!
I am not, the best gardener in the world.
(Grass and shrubs, I can keep alive. I'm the kiss of death on house plants. Perennials, I seem to do okay with.
