I love your hydrangea FWM. I don't think you will kill it. I have 2. One that blooms on old wood and one that blooms on new. They do really well with very little care. Pretty much just watering. Last year the one that blooms on old wood didn't flower, but I may have pruned it too much. Sometimes they will skip a year and not flower though, so that may have been what happened. Hopefully it flowers again this year. I love hydrangea's. They are one of my favorites.

This is the one I have that blooms on new wood. It's a pinky winky. I prune 2/3 of it off every spring and it still grows to over 4 feet tall.

Ha ha.  That pic isn't mine.  I googled it so I could show everyone what that breed looks like.  They are beautiful and have cone shaped flowers instead of round.  And the flowers color subtly over time.  I will post a pic of mine when it blooms.  It really is beautiful.  I'm amazed at how massive it gets.  I didn't know what it would do when I bought it because I had never seen one before.  But thank you!  and happy mothers day!  To all of you. aww

Here's a pic of mine from last year before it bloomed. It's the big plant in the back on the right. Like I said,  it gets big!  The flowers are really big too!

And this is my Little Henry I got last year.  He's a newbie.  aww005 (2).JPG

You don't live in Zone 8A, msrock. I used to live, within 70 miles or so, of where you are.

Keeping potted plants alive, in North Texas, requires attention.

During July, and August, especially.

If you miss a day, of watering...your plants will die. And, gosh, they will die, quick.cry

Potted plants are the devil, here. If you don't keep them watered, they are done.

When I go to Ohio, for my two week visit, after the 4th of July....I may very well come home to dead plants.

I hope not. But gosh, it has happened in the past.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, that I have better luck, this year.smile

I love beautiful gardens, but I fully blame my mom for stealing all the 'green thumb' genes. I kill everything. I try so hard, and I always fail. But they are pretty while they last.

A lady at my church comes up to me every week and asks me where she knows me from. She worked at my hospital years ago and we crossed paths pretty much every day. It's a shame she can't remember asking me the same thing every week.

Hole crapola!

We have been running the A/C all week & keep nudging the temp down a degree.

I even pinned my hair up at work because I just can't get cool.

Can I come roll around in your snow?

hahahaha no. FWM is bringing me a remote. When we went to the outlet mall the other day I tried on some Sketchers Go Walk shoes. They were awesome. So completely comfortable. They are slip on's. But they have a really cool non skid bottom. They have the memory foam stuff in them. It's like walking on air. I didn't buy them though. DN came over tonight and she had bought me a pair for mothers day.

She got the black ones. I was happy she did that though. I can wear them with most anything. I really liked the bright colors but some of those would look just plain gaudy if you wore them with other things. I'd gladly get those colors though! The pink ones are gorgeous but I don't even think I have anything pink!

Your birthday is on the 11th, Vette.

Mother's Day moves around. It doesn't hit on the same date, every year.

Quit whining, about nothing.

I'll start a birthday thread for you, tomorrow. smile

Well, it already is "tomorrow" here. So I beat you to it.

i know what Vette means. Being right before Christmas, its almost impossible to get into the good places because of all the Christmas parties taking up the reservations.

My birthday hits on Good Friday, some years.

And, Easter Sunday, some years.

March 29th, is too hard, for anyone, to remember.cry

My birthday is close to Thanksgiving so it gets overlooked every year. Except from my immediate family. Growing up, my cousin was born 2 days after mine. My aunt would always have a birthday cake for him at Thanksgiving. But me, nope.
