Pads were not provided to me in the hospital following my children's birth. I was transported to the cardiac ward and they really didn't know what to do with me. It wasn't something they thought about. All that was under me was that basic pad they put under everyone. So apparently the hospital did not consider pads a medical need. But there was TP in the bathroom!
Well, I'd say you were in a pretty stupid hospital, then. I received pads, and diapers, and special clothes for cleaning.

I don't think it's necessary to insult an entire country.

Then Canadians need to stop insulting America. I see it everywhere.
No Canadians have insulted Americans on here, so I guess I don't get your point.
I agree LL. I did not say here. That isn't a problem. I am just pointing out that Husker's comment may have come from that type of interaction on other boards. That's all. I see America constantly getting pounded for all our perceived flaws by our Northern Sister. That's all. But, no, that hasn't happened here and not saying it did.
It wasn't the hospital. It was the ward or floor that wasn't prepared and don't deal with that kind of patient regularly.
It'd be like putting a guy on the maternity floor.

Women? They don't deal with women regularly? Because women menstruate every month, pads should be a basic supply in a hospital that admits women. Bleeding after childbirth not really that different.

No. Generally those in the heart unit are not of menstruating years.
I've been in them. I know.

Women of all ages have heart issues, Lily. I have known 2 women to die of heart attacks before age 40, and one as a teenager. And my mother did not go into menopause until she was 60. The hospital should be prepared for that type of thing.

It's actually a very good hospital, known for its excellence in cardiac care. Presidents are flown in there for heart treatment. But in their defense, it was a very tenuous moment and hygiene was probably overlooked in favor of saving my life.
