We might be getting a shower or two today. Nothing major.
I could use another couple hours sleep.

Fingers crossed for Tiny! SB, twins are a handful. It was just a dream, remind yourself. I had some weird dreams last night as well. But I usually do as we get closer to the solstice.
SB, pregnant dreams can mean you are expecting something to happen or come to pass.
I use to want twins. Wasn't in the cards for me.

Some guy knocked on our door last night around 9, after dark. Against my wishes, Mr. FNW answered it and the guy had a black duffel bag, claiming he was selling LDS DVDs. After no thank you, he asked why. Mr. FNW said not interested, it's late, goodbye. He persisted. Can I come back tomorrow morning? Do you know of any other homes in this neighborhood with small children? Where does the neighborhood president live?
Mr. FNW just said he didn't know, and started to tell him we do not have an association, when I walked up and said goodbye and closed and locked the door.
Then I started checking the other doors/windows, etc. to make sure no one else was trying to get in. Then I notified all the neighbors (we are in yahoo groups) and called the police.
Our neighbor behind us is an LDS member and he said that's not church related activity.

Yes, it is. I've been chatting with my neighbor across the street and she thought it was odd that he didn't go to her house, because she has two small children and had a note on her front door asking people not to ring the bell so they wouldn't wake up sleeping children.
I did not see a car anywhere and after he left our house, he walked up towards the end of the cul-de-sac.
Oy FNW, that is creepy. I'm glad your family is okay.
My sister Irene, was tied up in mediation all dang day and into the night. (Tang might remember this. The soft drink warehouse in Grand Prairie, that burned to the ground a couple of years ago? Poor Irene. It's one of the properties that she manages.
Anyway, we went ahead and had dinner at 7:30. Irene got to my house at 8:30, and we warmed up a plate for her.
We had a nice visit. It was too short.
But, a short visit is better than no visit.
More rain is on the way. Honest to goodness, I need to start building an ark for me and my animals!
I might slap on some hair color, and do a few chores today.

That's really creepy. Keep an extra close eye out over the next few days.
I'm glad to be alive. My brakes failed on the way to work. An oncoming truck cut in front of me to turn, I slammed on the brakes and nothing happened. Foot to the floor and no stopping. I missed hitting the truck by inches, and then I was going uphill, with no one in front of me, thankfully. Limped the car along at 15 MPH another 2 miles to the repair shop.
Very glad this happened today on side streets, and not tomorrow whenI have to go to a 2-day work conference on Cape Cod with lots of highway driving. This might not have been pretty going 70 on the highway.
Thank you to my angel! Enjoy the day everyone.

Man glad you are ok blankie. We may never know all what our guardian angels protect us from. FNW, that guy sounds creepy and sounds to me that he may be a preditor by the way he was asking about who had children. Glad you alerted the neighborhood and called police.
Wow. FNW that is really creepy. I had someone come by selling magazines and they were asking all sorts of questions about my kids and when I wouldn't answer they started asking about other kids in the neighborhood. It was some sort of scam, but I don't know how.
Blankie! I am so glad you are ok. That would be so scary.
I am so tired today. I need to take a shower. I want to clean my car out, but it's already 11 and I haven't done anything.
Lots of scary stuff today for you all. Glad it is all working out.
Today is a work day for me since I was out yesterday. The next two weeks are going to be off schedule since Mom is coming for a 10 day visit starting next week.
I was also asked to represent the family at my dad's brother T's funeral since Mom and Aunt (Dad's sister) can not make it up from Florida before then. Notice I did not call him my Uncle. There was a family falling out between T and Gpop and I did not see him for over 30 years. Dad did reconcile with him just before Dad passed away three years ago. Silence since then. I would not know my cousins if they stood in from of me. Plus T's wife make some pretty bad remarks at Dad's funeral about Dad and that she married the "better" brother. She's just lucky that DH had a death grip on me since she was right behind me. I don't want to go but I will since Mom and Aunt asked as long as it does not interfere with any other plans.
Train crash here in Philly has taken over the news completely. Six are confirmed dead, more than 200 injured and there are more than a dozen that are missing or have not been identified. Out of approx 240 passengers total.
I don't know how many emergency responders went but I am sure I know a few that did (PFD, PPD, EMT). According to news, the incident required a four-alarm response from the Philadelphia Fire Department with 33 apparatus on the scene and 120 firefighters and other emergency management personnel responding. A total of about 200 police personnel also responded.
The tracks there are a major corridor for not just Amtrak, but the local transit system as well. Ridership was down on the local trains this morning but the highways on my commute were extra full.

Sorry to hear of your family issues, jlbear, but in some weird way, it's comforting to know others I have experienced what I have experienced with my in-laws.
I've been watching the train wreck as well. I have been on those tracks many times, either in route to Philly or NYC. Have they announced a cause yet? I was hoping to take the boys up to Philly on the train because they want to see the Liberty Bell and thought it would be a fun day trip. Glad I wasn't too quick making arrangements.
We played a joke on one of our reps. He sent his very pregnant, due Friday, coworker down from Charleston to bring a few items for a case tomorrow. It isn't even his first case so it could have been walked in tomorrow morning. We called to give him a hard time but he didn't answer so we left a message saying she got here and wasn't feeling good so we had to take her to the birthing center. He called back 20 minutes later freaking out. We finally told him she was fine.

For the most part, trains are fine. I would not hesitate to get on one again except for the comfort factor. I did the train from Philly to Tampa, 23.5 hours there, 22.5 hours home.
Don't miss the Franklin Institute when you come up. Love going there.
Wow! I'm almost breathless after reading everyone's "events"!
FNW, very scary!
Blankie, down right frightening!
jlBear, sometimes you just want to slap "family". IVY
SB, thanks for the laugh! That boss deserved that one.
FWM, glad you got a little time with your sis.
Good afternoon, lily, TD, NAOW, HM, Lindley, Chille, and IKWTDS.
Believe it or not, but I slept 12 solid hours last night. My body just quit. Now I have body drag. Oh well, got to get laundry done and the house vacuumed.
Hope you all have a great day and survive!!

HELLO!! It's pouring down rain AGAIN!! Blah. DH just called and is on his way home. I will be leaving in a bit to pick him up. I have to go by the bakery and finalize DS's birthday cake order. DH says SS is going to be with us for the rest of the week.

I'm building an ark in the backyard, NJN.
Do you And your animals want to join me and my animals?
OMG FWM!! An ARK? You have GOT to hear this! This is NOT A LIE! DS opened the door to see the rain and there were two ducks paddling down the middle of our flooded street!
SEND THE ARK!!

That was on our list. DH is from Phoenixville, went to Univ. of Pennsylvania, and never saw the Liberty Bell. His parents never took him places. Sad.
Is the Franklin the one with the giant heart you walk through?
Almost every year for a field trip, we went to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall in elementary school for 2-6 grade. I do not care for going as an adult.
FI is the one with the giant walk-thru heart. I love most of the special exhibits they have there. We did Titanic there and the Body Exhibit. Right now they have Genghis Kahn and The Art of the Brick (Legos).

ROFLMAO! I can believe it, NJN! We have ducks in our neighborhood, too!
All this rain is getting old. I want to see the sun again!
(And, if I really were building an ark, I would plan room for you and your pets!)
We took MIL & SIL to see King Tut at FI when I was pregnant. Very interesting.
I told Mr. FNW he probably saw it in school, but he said no. I find it hard to believe. Maybe he just didn't see it in its present location. I've seen it, but if the boys want to see it, then they shall see it!

You are sweet! It was just the weirdest thing. We have so many ponds around here. They're all overflowing. I guess the ducks were trying to find a not so deep place? They're literally just paddling down the street.

Did they land? And if so, was there an olive branch in their beaks?
LOL They paddled down the side of the street where the water is the deepest. I guess they were following the current. Then they found a spot across the street and hopped off. They were standing in my neighbors yard. We looked at each other like "Did we just see what we thought we saw?" I mean it's not every day we see ducks paddling down the street. Then we laughed hysterically. And nope, they had no olive branches so I guess we're doomed to more rain! Ugh.
The rain really IS that bad here.
