I had my luggage fall off the transport & then get run over. I was in luggage claim & the contents of my suitcase were coming out one at a time. Like my underwear. My white shirt had a big tire track on it. The airport gave me a new suitcase that was much nicer than the one I had. Luckily it was on the trip home.
Oh my gosh I would have died of embarrassment. I'm glad they replaced your suitcase though.
It was a bit embarrassing but I think most people were too concerned about getting their bags & going about their business to give it much thought.
One time we were flying to Salt Lake City for my DN's wedding. We'd packed along about 15 lbs of our oh so fine wild caught Florida shrimp (frozen) packed in dry ice (in the allowed amount). We connected through Las Vegas, and it was July. We arrived, the shrimp didn't. They were very apologetic, and said they'd find it and get to us ASAP.
Then I apologized, because in summer, between Las Vegas, and SLC, in July, that dry ice wasn't going to last all too much longer, and then they would definitely be able to find that shrimp (blindfolded no doubt). It was found post haste and delivered to my brother's house within the hour. And yes, it was still frozen solid!

I'm glad they found your shrimp. It would have been bad for everyone if it was found a day too late!
Miami Int'l is far worse than LAX IMHO. I HATE Dulles. I avoid Laguardia and Kennedy at all costs, they have the worst on time records for take offs and arrivals. I dislike Newark but will relent to using it just to avoid NY. DC is one of the easiest and least confusing. Logan sucks to drive to. Manchester NH is heaven as is Charleston, SC. Orlando, well you expect the crying and tantrums, its Orlando, right? O'Hare seems chaotic but really is well run, Midway is better to fly through. Key West is soooo nice. Almost no one flies in there. All the European airports seem way too chaotic, maybe it's the lack of my understanding the language. I have traveled so much sometimes I have to stop and think about which airport I am in.

You'd love Jacksonville, clean, modern, well run, and easy to get to and from. Logan and Midway are two of my "white knuckle" landing airports.
Manchester...I used to live right near it before it was a commercial field. We flew in a couple of years ago, and on the way to the beltline, stopped by my old house (lived there 63-67).

Cape Town International is one of those windy airports where if you sit on the right (as in correct) side of the plane, you might see the tail of the plane as you land as you look out your window.
