I was thanking Flan.

Blessing me like that. I don't mind being blessed at all.

Sweetie, if I'm being nasty, EVERYONE will know it.

I have zero patience with sweeping generalizations.

I do believe that there are good daycares out there. Ones that allow discipline. However, the ones in MY AREA are much like the ones Lily describes. And I still stand behind the statement that there will always be some kids that hit, kick, bite, whatever.

You just can't let it go.

You are making yourself look ridiculous.

Go ahead. I won't stop you.

It does seem to be a general rule now. No real discipline and don't any body dare tell a kid no.

So a kid poops in his pants & decides to finger paint with it...and it's all good?

Yes.  You are supposed to praise the creativity and redirect them to use crayons.  Not a lie.  I've taken classes on this crap to renew my nursing license.

Okay...NOW I've heard everything.

I would not last 2 hours at a daycare...no

This is exactly why I had my kids in home day-care. The rules that the day care centers have to abide by are crazy.

We have the same thing with the elderly. We were never allowed to tell the family anything negative about the patient. We couldn't say anything but good things. Like saying, "We have a hard time getting your dad to take his medicine. Could you talk to him about the importance of this?" that was a big no no. We could only tell the family members how wonderful it was to have their dad or mom with us.

I didn't use day care. I took jobs that allowed me to be home with them during the day. They stayed with my mom at night.

By the time I left for work the only left to do was tuck them in.

I know I was blessed beyond measure to be able to do that.

I made choices. I worked my butt off.

Stayed worn out for years.

I sacrificed a lot. Everything else actaually.

There were weeks I didn't get but a couple hours sleep a night.

But it was worth it.

Obviously everyone but you knows it. Being on the other end of your snark is quite enlightening.
