As stated up-thread, and in the other thread, his actions got no sympathy from me, so not sure why that keeps getting thrown around as a general statement. I can however sympathize with the father feeling of hopelessness towards his daughters illness. The GM on the other hand, not so much.

I have no idea what that thread has to do with this one.  It's like people have no real valid point on this topic, so they have to deflect.

Someone else will have to help you with that one. Not sure who brought that thread here initially.

i didn't read the other thread, nor do I care to.
What this grandmother did is sinister. She punished children by killing five animals.

Organic brain syndrome is simply a generic term for brain malfunctions due to physical illnesses, like Alzheimer's, bleeding in the brain, etc.

There is no evidence of physical issues, and an Alzheimer's patient could not be that clear thinking.

Do you understand Alzheimer's or OBS?  It isnt' always all or nothing.  Many of them can still function and have periods of lucidity.

If they are lucid - their actions are not a result of the Alzheimer's.

Wow.  You really have no medical understanding of this whatsoever.  Many of these diseases are progressive.  They gradually deteriorate.

I have quite a bit of medical understanding when it comes to the elderly losing their capacity - which is why I know this action wasn't because of it.  You are making excuses because you can't believe someone could just be that mean.  Alzheimer's isn't going to do that to you.  Unless she has an undiagnosed brain tumor - it is unlikely to be OBS.  Her actions were too clear thinking.  A dementia or Alzheimer's patient wouldn't be able to do everything she did as clearly as she planned.

But, regardless - I'm not going to make excuses for what she did without any evidence of it.

I don't care who tells. I did bring it here. To demonstrate the ridiculousness of those who sympathize with a murderer but want to string up a cat killer.

This guy didn't love his child.

 YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT.

Oh, and I saw my mom 2 days before she died. She chose to grasp at every thread she was offered.

I will NOT put my boys through that.

You don't see the difference. Amazing.

Personal choice vs. No personal choice.

The daughter didn't choose to die. Her father murdered her against her will.

Good God Flan.

 I.UNDERSTAND.THAT.

But you cannot see into this man's heart.

flan

WTF?  He KILLED people!!  He showed us exactly what was in his heart.

All I was doing was stating a fact, not judging Lily.

BUT if your child loved his pet cat, would you kill it because he wasn't doing his chores? I doubt it.

 I already said as much.

I think that when a child sees or finds out that an adult family member killed a family pet because the "adult" was angry at the kid -- or at someone else --

the kid will be afraid of that adult as long as they are both alive.

"Grandma killed my car, grandma doesn't care about me or anyone but herself, she might kill me next."

"Officer, Grandma killed my cat with a hammer, and she said I was next. I had to defend myself."
