Wondering when our rain will ever stop.  Everything is soaked.  Carlee has spent the last few nights sleeping on DH's and my head.  Really getting tired of rain.  Problem is come August we'll probably be dry  as a bone.

DH and I went to the store today and just as we were turning the corner off our street onto the main strip there was an 18 wheeler that had apparently exploded.  It was still slightly burning when we drove by.  Two hours later they were still cleaning up the mess.

Ahhh, coffee. I've had to quit drinking hot coffee. It's been giving me heartburn. And the back door trots.cry

Only iced coffee, for me. I'm suffering.no

LOL..........iced coffee doesn't seem to make me sick. So, I'm surviving on that.

During the hot weather, it's not so bad.

My suffering will come, next winter.wink

LOL Yeah, they have some decent iced coffee these days. That's the good part. The bad part is sometimes you just want a nice big old cup of hot java.

I'm hoping to leave early tomorrow. So far only two cases on the schedule. I am going to clean my deck after work today. No rain in the forecast fo the next week. I've been itching to paint my deck! Looks like it will finally happen.

Good morning ya'll.

Today and tomorrow are the last 2 days of the 2015 school year for Jesse and Aaron.

And then Sunday we leave for Myrtle beach.

When making our plans, we didn't really think about it being Memorial day weekend. So it's going to be crowded Monday.

Oh well. The next week is bike week. So we dodged that.

Ya'll Texas geeks don't wash away.

Showers in our forecast.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good Morning All! No coffee for me. I'll take a diet Coke for my caffeine, please. Breakfast of cold pizza.

High of 62 and overcast. The Floridians are freezing here. And they still won't shut up! I am so used to my quiet. Maybe I should give them the alcohol so they pass out.

I am trying to work on homework since my classes started up again. There are some family friends coming later today so I want to get it done before they get here.

Yup! Winter or summer...and it has to be in a glass glass (not plastic) with lots of ice cubes.

Coke for me.

Pepole try to tell me I need to give up my coke. If I do, I won't have a single vice left and my madness will become everyone's problem.

I swear. It was easier to stop smoking than it is to give up my cokes.

I watched the season finale of Supernatural last night.  It was awesome.

I use to like Survivor. But I stopped watching when the one guy started going naked all the time.

DH was the big Survivor fan, and kept trying to get me to watch with him. Finally I gave in, to shut him up, but I hated the thought of a game that was won by lying.

It's fun, in a tacky kind of way.

Maybe I'll get to them this afternoon, since it's probably going to rain all day.

Just saw that one of the classes I was trying to substitute for was approved. This was for the class that was cancelled. So I don't have to take Hospice, it was substituted with Social Problems. Now waiting for the rest of my classes from College #1 to transfer to College #2 so I can get substitutions for two more classes.

I liked the finale. But I was bummed that there was no Castle this past Monday night. I'll take the repeats.

I still need to buy the DVD's from last season. It's one of my indulgences.

Morning everyone. It is raining here too. Not torrential though. And the temperature dropped. Yay! It was too hot for May.

I love iced coffee. I stopped drinking hot coffee a while ago. It just lost it's appeal. Now I drink strong black tea. But I have always liked tea. Hot or iced.

And I think Shop cat will be ok if she doesn't get her breakfast at 6:00am for a few days.

65 is comfortable for me.  But in the summer I set the thermostat to 72 because it can't cool any better than that when it is 90 & humid.  It will just run itself to death & still not get any cooler.  I actually don't like summer very much.

We're only heading for a high of 69 today, Lexxy. Yay for a cool day!

Wayne usually feeds Shop Cat at 5 to 5:30. She's going to give me grief!wink

They just changed Wayne's flights. Now he's going into JFK, and catching a connecting flight to Milan.

New arrival time is 8:25 am., tomorrow morning.

Oy! I hope he can catch a nap on the plane!cry

Maggie's original family must have been early risers.  She would wake up at 4:30 - 5:00 am & cry to go out.  After 3 years we have finally altered her schedule to sleep later.  She will still occasionally wake up that early.

It finally warmed up to about 60 today. It has been freezing all week and it's been making me cranky. The car was acting up yesterday so I am working a long day today to make up the hours. Probably working a long one tomorrow too in order to avoid using any PTO.

Class night was last night. The junior girls give the senior girls the cross necklace they will wear at graduation. Each junior girl is paired up with someone in the senior class they know and they stand in 2 long lines face to face. DD and her BFF have 2 really good friends who are seniors and they each paired up with one. The juniors sing the seniors a song and then the seniors sing a goodbye song. All you could hear was crying. Lol. It was sweet and sad.

I like that because the school is so old, there are a lot of cute traditions like this. It makes things so rooted in the past even when all the kids can think about is the future. The chaplain was talking about how many girls have stood in the same spot and handed a cross to someone they loved and then the next year, they were the ones singing goodbye. It was moving.

They do something different, but I am not sure what they do. The school originally started as a boys military school and an adjacent girls school as two separate schools. When they merged and dropped the military portion, the girls fought to keep a lot of their traditions and the boys eagerly dropped a lot of their military ones. The result is the girls have a lot of little rituals and traditions that they follow, and the boys have fewer.

I know they boys met somewhere last night while we were in the chapel. No idea what they were doing. It might have just been a prayer service or something similar.
