They teach their kids that women can get cancer from premarital sex and that once they get married their body magically immunizes them against semen.  Seriously crazy.  They don't believe in dinosaurs.  Dinosaurs are not a belief system.  They are part of history!  They totally have some crazy aspects to them.

You CAN get cancer from premarital sex.  It's caused by a sexually transmitted virus - HPV - and that causes cervical cancer.

that doesn't stop after you get married and if that's what they want to teach, then they should teach that.  Not that getting married suddenly causes immunization.

They're the parents. They can teach whatever THEY think is appropriate. Would you like them to tell you how you should raise your kids?

As I said earlier I think they are crazy, but not doing anything illegal. They can do what they want, but teaching **** like that is dangerous and stupid in my opinion.

And a reason why homeschooling should have some more oversight!

If 2 virgins get married and are in a monogomous relationship, it most certainly does.  HPV doesn't show up spontaneously - you have to get it from someone.

No the media made it a story. Why should the fact that they're on a reality show mean they shouldn't be treated fairly? I guess if it was a house full of gays they could say and do anything they want because you know...they're gay.

I find that extremely offensive.  Those kids, all of the kids, were minors.  The records were SEALED!  How would you feel flan if itty bitty was touched, you reported it, and then some ******* who didn't like you decided to splash her name all over the papers?  Oh, wait.  That would OFFEND you.  These kids were violated by the media.  Even Josh.  They had a right to their privacy on THIS ISSUE.  Putting your family on a reality show does not mean you allow things like this to be broadcast.  And the fact that in your twisted mind you think because they wanted publicity it's okay to violate their privacy on a sexual assault and BREAK THE LAW is beyond comprehension for me.

And besides that, even IF it was a relevant point - which it is not - how does the PARENTS' decision to do a reality show waive the childrens' right to privacy over matters such as this?

I respect them. Yes. Even now.

They handled it. They handled it well.

They got their kids help. They went to the police. They took care of it.

I respect that they took care of it as a family.

No. I didn't say anything bad. Just speaking those words pisses you off to a level you can't describe. But you don't give a chit about the Duggar kids and the others. Those kids were all minors and you're just revealing in the fact that the family got what was coming to them. NO ONE should have had access to this story. NO ONE. That magazine should be sued. You have no sympathy for the victims here. You're so busy trying to condemn Josh to hell that you don't even realize that every one of the five girls was victimized by the press. Where the hell is your sympathy for THEM?

I don't even particularly like the Duggars and yet the way they are being treated by people and the media during this is just despicable.

And let's just assume Josh DOESN'T have a right to his privacy because, after all, he's a Duggar and they're evil. What about all the girls? They were INNOCENT! They didn't deserve any of this. They didn't consent to it. They are minors. And even though their parents consented to a tv show they were still minors and their parents CANNOT waive their right to privacy. The Duggars, like everyone, have to follow the LAW.

Your attitude is that they deserve it because they choose to be on a reality show.  That's despicable.  These girls did not ask to be touched or molested or whatever.  They were minors.  Your attitude that they should be dragged through the mud just because you don't like the family is beyond despicable.

Look, I agree that lots of sex partners can lead to disease, but teaching someone that getting married miraculously causes immunization is not medically accurate.  Why can't they just tell them medically sound info rather than coming up with a weird story about it?  Its bizarre.

Did I accuse her of something nasty?  I used her grand daughter as an example.  I didn't even say anything mean.  I simply asked her if she would want her grand daughters privacy violated.  If she wants to ask me if I would want my childs privacy violated she can feel free to ask.  It would not offend me one bit.  I didn't attack her.  Anyone on this board is free to ask me the same question I asked her.  I didn't know that using a hypothetical situation was the end of the world.  But if it is so be it.  I am open to answering the same question.

They use the Gothard's homeschool program, and he has already been in trouble for sexual abuse of minors.

Gawker did some digging into Gothard’s homeschool curriculum and it’s probably one of the most insane things you will read all week. For instance, ladies: did you know that evil alien semen is invading your girlie bits and causing cancer? The only way to stop these evil, alien sperm is to find yourself a husband:

Doctors have discovered that the seed of the man is an alien substance to the woman. It triggered responses similar to those of an “allergic” reaction. A woman who has a husband is able to develop “immunity” to this reaction; however, a promiscuous woman’s immune system becomes confused and unable to distinguish alien substances. This confusion is a key to the development of cancer.

Do any of you know how most families handle situations like these? MOST families deny it happened and ignore it. For the Duggars to immediately be receptive to it and take action, any action, is actually quite the unusual thing. MOST families do NOT do that. So just because you think the Duggars didn't do the right thing they did do amazingly well. I hope and pray none of you EVER have to find out what YOU would do in this situation.

I guess my question would be how do you know they used that part of the curriculum?  I mean, if I was homeschooling (kill me NOW), I would likely pick and choose anything that I didn't deem necessary.

NJN asked a simple question as an example - she did not attack or otherwise insult flan's grandchild.  If flan never wants her children or grandchildren mentioned - she shouldn't talk about them in the first place.  Mentioning someone's kid is not attacking them.

I didn't say she attacked flan's grandchild, I asked why she didn't answer the question.

IMHO, several here are a bit defensive lately..

Why should I answer flan's question?  I have REPEATEDLY asked flan the same two questions which she refuses to answer and keeps changing the subject.  I notice you didn't call her out on that.

Amen to that.  They did much more than a LOT of families would do.  Just ask ed's wife.

If 2 virgins get married and are in a monogomous relationship, it most certainly does.  HPV doesn't show up spontaneously - you have to get it from someone.

Look, I agree that lots of sex partners can lead to disease, but teaching someone that getting married miraculously causes immunization is not medically accurate.  Why can't they just tell them medically sound info rather than coming up with a weird story about it?  Its bizarre.

I have never heard that particular story.

I guess my question would be how do you know they used that part of the curriculum?  I mean, if I was homeschooling (kill me NOW), I would likely pick and choose anything that I didn't deem necessary.

They've discussed using this curriculum before.  I can find you links if you want.  I'll have to dig around later for more.  There has been talk for years about how bad their particular curriculum is.  None of their kids have gone to any traditional high school or college.   I just think its bizarre.

No sex ed is better than bull**** sex ed.

I've only read the last page. That sort of jumped out at me about her grandchild.

Has anyone else drug anyone else's kids into the conversation?

I didn't DRAG her child into it.  I asked her how she would feel if her grandchilds privacy was violated.  THAT IS IT.  Not an insult.  Not a slam.  And maybe you should spend some time asking flan why she keeps avoiding MY questions.  Or do you only care about why I asked what I did?  Agenda driven?

Yes, this all involved MINORS. And, we give minors a chance to have private records and not have their mistakes splayed all over the newspaper. I don't give a rat's behind about the Duggars one way or the other. I have never watched the show nor had any interest it in whatsoever. But, they sound like they behaved like responsible parents and did what they believed best to remedy the situation. It may not have been what I would have done or what you would have done but I respect that they did what they believed was right for their family and the proof is in the pudding which is that he is now a productive citizen in society and the girls have forgiven him and are doing well in their lives.

Correct, technically Josh was a minor too but I don't really care that his part in it has become public.  It shouldn't have but it has.  It was wrong that it became public but what he did was wrong too.  And sometimes we have to face some harsh consequences of what we do.  So now he is.  However, the girls are all minors and also victims.  ALL of them.  None of them deserved this.  And anyone who laughs and says they deserved it because they put their family on a tv show is just sick.

OMG, I think my sister had that! She was living with this guy in college and they started out having sex using condoms. Once they moved in together they stopped using condoms. Every time they had sex she would break out in an itchy rash down below. They kept treating it like a yeast infection. EVERY SINGLE TIME they had sex it happened. Then they broke up and she never had a problem again. Weird. I have never heard of that until now but it does describe her.

The fixed by marriage is monogamy.

If two have never had sex in their lives, and they never have sex with anyone else ever, they are immune to the sexual diseases of the world.

The treatment is desensitization through continued and repeated exposure - basically building up an immunity.

Jessa, Jill Duggar say parents placed locks on bedroom doors after brother Josh molested them

June 5, 2015 by THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Jessa, left, and Jill Duggar speak to Megyn

Two of reality TV's Duggar sisters fondled by their brother Josh say they weren't even aware it had happened until he confessed and their parents told them about it.

Jill and Jessa Duggar, part of the family featured in TLC's "19 Kids and Counting," were two of the four sisters whom Josh Duggar touched inappropriately a dozen years ago. They talked about it with Fox News Channel's Megyn Kelly in an interview set to air Friday night, and the network made excerpts available early.

Jessa Duggar said that her brother was "a young boy in puberty" who was "a little too curious about girls."

In the wake of the incidents, the sisters said the parents restricted the children from playing games like hide and seek and placed locks on bedrooms where the girls and boys slept.

Jessa Duggar said that she wanted to defend her brother against people who are calling him a child molester, pedophile or rapist. She said people can get mad at her for saying that this is overboard, "but I can say this because I was one of the victims."

"He made some bad choices," she said. "But really the extent of it was mild, inappropriate touching, on fully clothed victims, most of it while girls were sleeping."

The Duggars' parents, in an interview with Kelly that aired on Wednesday, acknowledged that Josh had admitted to fondling a babysitter along with the four Duggar sisters. They said they took Josh for counseling. Police investigated the incidents three or four years later after being tipped by someone who knew the family, but filed no charges.

The incidents became public over the past few weeks through news reports about police records on the case, which have since been destroyed.

TLC has taken reruns of "19 Kids and Counting" off the air and said they've made no decision about the future of the show. Hulu also has removed the show from its offerings.

The sisters said it was their choice to speak about the incidents when it made headlines across the country.

"Nobody asked us to do this," Jill Duggar said. "Jessa and I were talking and were like, 'Oh my goodness, most of the stuff out there is lies.' It's not the truth. And for the truth's sake, we wanted to come out and set the record straight."

Jill Duggar said that Josh asked them to forgive him after they found out about the fondling.

"We had to make that choice that I think everyone has to make," she said. "My dad explained to us, he said, 'you know, there's a difference between forgiveness and trust. That's not the same thing.' You know, you forgive someone and then you have boundaries. Forgiveness with boundaries. And so trust comes later. You know, Josh destroyed that trust at the beginning. And so he had to rebuild that."

The incidents made the Duggars vulnerable to charges of hypocrisy because of their promotion of conservative Christian family values. Their mother, Michelle, recorded a robocall in opposition to a Fayetteville proposal to ban discrimination, raising the idea of transsexuals using bathrooms for women and girls. Until his recent resignation, Josh Duggar worked as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council.

"We are not a perfect family. We are just a family," Jill Duggar said.

"It's right to say, 'here's what I believe, here's my values,' even if you've made stupid mistakes or failures," her sister added. "If you've had failures in your past it doesn't mean you can't be changed ... I think the real issue is people are making this sound like it happened yesterday."

Yep. Watched them tonight on Kelly Files. They were very well spoken and intelligent. I have never been a fan of the Duggars but the more I watch this play out the more I am impressed with them.
