Obviously, even 4 years later that were still concerned flan. So, they didn't just fluff it off. What is it you want them to have done? They love their son too. They took measures to protect their daughters. The daughters said it ended after that. Do you want him to just Die now or what? He has apologized. The parents have apologized. The families seem healthy which SHOULD be what the end result is that everyone wants. Instead, you all want to extract some pound of flesh for something that doesn't even concern you. What is it you WANT right now?
As for saying, "they got what they wanted', that is really just ignorant.
Did anyone even freaking watch their interview? They DID get him and all the girls therapy from a licensed professional. If that professional was a Christian I'm so sorry that doesn't match up to your agnostic or atheist views. Not really. They did EVERYTHING right. EVERYTHING. It's so easy to judge them And again, this kind of stuff goes on in non Duggar families every day. This is only story because it's the Duggars.
You realize that if some totally non famous family came out on the news because their son had fondled five girls over their clothes people here would be laughing it off and saying this is not the end of the world. They would say, send the boy to counseling and watch him. He is not destined to become a rapist. People are making it more than it is and because it is the Duggars.
And where is the sympathy for the minors whose information was released? I don't see any of that here.
That's the first time I've heard that, and I'm on more than one board.
I disagree that they did EVERYTHING right. Didn't Josh tell them THREE times before they did anything?
flan
Maybe you should watch the interview with the parents. They said they sent him to the "work camp", took him to the police station and had him talk to a policemen (who later turned out to be a pedophile), and had him talk to the pastor. He told them about touching his sisters and they felt like they took care of it. They put a security system in to watch the girls. Later on he touched some other girls that weren't related to him when they were in his home and he told his parents. They took further steps. They DID address it. Did you want them to throw him out on the streets at 15? Do you realize how many non Duggar families have this, and worse, happen, and they just totally ignore it? I am not condemning them.
flan, every time we have a Duggar thread your disgust of the family is obvious. We get that you don't like them. But I tell you what. Unless you have ever been in their situation you don't have the right to judge.
I wanted for them toprotect the other daughters and the other child once they learned about it. Josh told them about the first incidents that happened 4-5 times with 2 of the daughters. They said the took steps to protect the daughters, I do not recall if it was cameras. then they learn of victims 3, 4 and 5 during the next year. The other girl being a baby sitter while they were gone. The mentor happened a year after learning of it and after 3 more victims. When he got back they went to the police. They did say that Josh and the girls had counseling later.
They could have not have the babysitter come over. They could have sent him to a mentor or counsler after the first time he told him. It is not like the first time he told them it was about a 1 timeincident.
As far as it being news, it is because they are famous, if it was another celerbrity it wouldbe out there as well.
They took measures to protect the girls. They didn't think there was a problem anymore when the babysitter thing happened. Everyone is condemning them. What would YOU, general you, do if you were in the situation. I'm telling you, unless you have walked in their shoes you have no room to judge.
