I have a daughter named Sarah and I hate that name. Her dad got to the birth certificate first and both her first and middle names are on my names I hate list. I call her by a nickname. I told him no no no no no and he still did it. That may well be the moment our marriage started failing. Who does that?!?!?
My apologies to any geeks named Sarah.
That doesn't offend me! Everyone has different tastes. That was horrible of him to do!

Um, I can say my marriage would have failed very quickly if DH did that to me. That is a serious betrayal. Honestly, I think I would have a harder time getting over that than an affair.

I know a baby William, and a baby Charlotte born this year.
My VSS SIL named the baby she just had Charlotte. Two weeks later when the Princess was born she got really pissed off and said they stole her name. She had a massive FB temper tantrum melt down.
My first DH and I had names that started with the same letter and named our kids nice normal names that started with the same letter. They were not spelled weird or anything. I like their names.
My name is so unusual. I think the last time LL looked it up there were like three of us in the whole world. Something like that. And the only reason there were that many is because when I married DH I got a nice normal last name. Not a weird German last name like my ex. When I had his name I was the only one with my name.
I don't get the having a temper tantrum thing when someone names their kid the same name. I am surprised they haven't found a way to sell Baby names yet and let people have them exclusively! lol I mean, seriously, no matter how unique you think you are being, there are a million other people with the same name.

Wow, really? I can see the attitude that led to you divorcing him. What an ass. Around here - they give the paperwork only to Mom.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
DH and I had finally agreed on a boy name when we found out we were having a girl. All the men in his family have the middle name Kumar - so a boy would have been Logan Xavier Kumar.
I do not like Baby J's real name. I changed the spelling with the adoption, but I had to keep the name so as not to totally freak out DN and my mother since it's the name my sister gave her. I HATED her name before. Now, with a more traditional spelling, it is tolerable. We call her Josie, and I like that.
DD11 is named after the city in Georgia that we honeymooned in.
