Yes, I have seen St. Vincent. Sheesh, I keep telling you I'm a movie whore. I loved it. Funny, cute, sad. I can't really say much without spoiling it. Bill Murray's "girlfriend" is a hoot. I love Melissa McCarthy. I don't care that she isn't what Hollywood deems the proper weight or size. She is hilarious and I have seen probably everything she is in. She is an excellent actress. So talented. I hope she goes far in her career. I'm dying to see the new movie that is coming out in the theaters about her going under cover.

 I believe you...LOL

The only movie I didn't like Melissa McCarthy in was "Tammy." Everything else is golden.

I love the guy who played the priest, too. Just a good story.

I tried watching "Wild," but didn't care for it.

I loved Tammy.  For so many reasons.  I love Susan Sarandon and also Kathy Bates.  I thought Tammy was great because it was about her kind of finding herself and her self esteem.

I watched Wild.  It was good but wasn't what I thought it was going to be.

Have you seen Still Alice?

Don't forget your Kleenex.  It's an amazing movie.  Heartbreaking.  So honest and truthful though.  I think Alec Baldwin played himself!  lol  I love Jullianne Moore.  She plays this part so well.  I've seen it twice.  I caught so much the second time around.  Great movie.

We're watching the Senate hearings and listening to them vote on things. The bad part is for him this is like a football game. He will jump up and yell, "SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP YOU STUPID CVNT BAG!" Or, "YOU DUMB BASTARD. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!" The kids are afraid to go around him! lol

You want to know how bad it is? It's ten to six here, we need to go to the store, and he still hasn't gotten out of bed or put clothes on. Let's not talk about showering. And I just asked him when we're leaving. He said not until the next vote is taken.

Wow - you are all into such high-brow movies these days.... I took my clients to Pitch Perfect 2 just so I would have a chance to see it!

Today has been a super productive day off. Got all the rest of my stuff from storage unpacked (which means it is obviously time to pack up and move!), three loads of laundry, made applesauce with the apples that were getting soft, roasted & candied almonds with my home made garam masala spice blend, did 3 loads of dishes by hand (stuff needed to be sanitized), flipped the sofa upside down and fastened the cover underneath so it doesn't fall off anymore, cleaned the stove (okay, just the top part), shredded all the documents that have been backing up, and cleaned all the suspiciously outdated food out of the fridge. Which created more dishes.

I've also watched 3 movies. Robots, Killing Kennedy, Girl Interrupted & now The Blind Side. Noise makes me productive.

Sigh. the sugar on my almonds is slightly over caramelized where it was touching the parchment paper and the garam masala flavor isn't coming through :(

Edible though, so not bad for a first try.

Holy crap is my day finally done? I am super busy; work, DD stuff, dog, etc. So with the new job it will be worse for about a year and then some relief because of DD getting older. Oh well, at least I am not getting busy dying, I'm getting busy living.

My FIL, who can't bother to come see DD ever because we live too far away...yeah, he is going to Hawaii next week. Seriously ? I am all for him going on vacation, and living it up. But he has not come to visit us in the 2 years we have lived here because we are "too far away". But Hawaii isn't? Just say you don't want to see us. I would at least appreciate the honesty.

I'm sorry.  My family does chit like this all the time.  I got so tired of dealing with it.

I know Tig will remember this but this past summer my family had a huge family reunion.  I wasn't invited.  But two of my sisters wanted to get together and meet and "reconcile".  They were staying 15 minutes from me.  They never managed to call me because, according to them, they were having "too much fun to call".  They didn't think it was important.  I now no longer talk to them.  And you know what is worse?  They seriously don't think they did anything wrong.  Just like, I'm sure, your FIL doesn't think he did anything wrong.

Nope, he has no idea. His wife flat out told DD they wouldn't come to visit us because we live too far away. Mind you my BIL and SIL live only an hour further away, but whatever. They live at the beach, so who wouldn't want to go there?! But to say we are too far away and then plan a trip 3 times the distance...just tell us you don't like us. Be honest at least and quit making excuses.

NJN, your sisters don't know what they are missing. They are foolish for not calling you. How thoughtless of them.

 Yep. You so get it.

Don't bother mentioning why you aren't coming to see us. Honestly, I don't even WANT to see them. But I want them to see their granddaughter. I don't want her to feel like she did something wrong or that she isn't good enough.

I know. The lack of honesty is the clincher. It's not like you don't already KNOW. For pete's sake everyone in the situation KNOWS. Just tell it like it is.

 Yep. You so get it.

Don't bother mentioning why you aren't coming to see us. Honestly, I don't even WANT to see them. But I want them to see their granddaughter. I don't want her to feel like she did something wrong or that she isn't good enough.

Dirtbags.

I sure hope your DD doesn't feel that way.  That would be sad if true.

Yep.  My mom calls my son to tell him she's getting new grand kids.  Um, you didn't want to be around my kids.  Why are you calling other than to be mean?

What??????  Does she do this in a taunting way?

My FIL, who can't bother to come see DD ever because we live too far away...yeah, he is going to Hawaii next week. Seriously ? I am all for him going on vacation, and living it up. But he has not come to visit us in the 2 years we have lived here because we are "too far away". But Hawaii isn't? Just say you don't want to see us. I would at least appreciate the honesty.

Oh , we so have the same FIL.  Mine wouldn't come for less than 3 days because we're so far (3 hours), but he took a road trip to Illinois.

Mom & Dad lived 500 miles away, easy 8-hour drive...and all 5 grandkids were in Indy.

Mom told me once that she didn't want to "waste her vacation time visiting family."

We were told we weren't worth the "Long" drive unless they could stay a minimum of 3 days.

But, you are not that far away.  What, a 2-3 hour drive?

Bites my fingers to keep my polite image
