I just got an email for the Newport Aquarium in KY.  I've never been there and never visited their website or signed up for any email communication from them.  Not only did they send me an email - but it was an email about their OTTERS. 

And now I want to go.  But I'm still a bit freaked out.

Yeah. Every time I google something I'll either get their advertisement at the top of the page or sometimes they email me.

You probably got on a list for some other animal-related organization. Contact lists are sold all the time.
