There's a few movies that I really love that I could watch over and over again if i happen upon them. Slingblade. Billy Bob Thorton's acting is amazing in that movie. You will fall in love with him and the boy. Shawshank Redemption. Revenge is sweet! Fargo. Um... when everything can possibly go wrong when you are committing a crime, this is it! Dark, but hilarious. Oh... and for one of the best romantic comedies of all time... Overboard. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. Adorable! Love that one!

I LOVE Fargo.  The wood chipper scene cracks me up every time - I know that's horribly wrong.

OMG! Someone gets me!  That movie was just like Wow... WTF just happened???  lol!  It's a classic.

My DH's favorite park is in the quiet parking lot when he just pops the trunk.  That movie is wonderful.

It's one of my favorites.  My daughter was appalled when I recommended it and her and her friends watched it.  lol!  Have you seen Slingblade?  I need to know.

As for Fargo... the round about way the pregnant female cop solved the case. Nonchalant. I love the tone of that movie. It fluctuates between crazy and calm. It was perfect.

I have not.  But I just went and watched the trailer, and now I just might need to.

You have to.  I have never seen the trailer... but trust me.  It's a great movie that you won't forget.

The Birdcage is one of my classic faves. With Robin Williams and Nathan Lane.

Heck, Nathan Lane is great in everything.

I never saw The Birdcage. So I went to IMDB and found that it came out in 1996. Same year as Slingblade. I think I will watch it. And I want you all that haven't watched Slingblade to watch and report back. What do you think? We need a time frame.

Slingblade is a favorite. O Brother Where Art Thou is probably my favorite of all time though. I could watch that over and over again.

if you like the Birdcage with williams / lane you should really watch the original la cage aux folles in french w/ english subtitles

the original film is MUCH funnier and well-acted with that dry, sarcastic french sense of humor--the actor who plays " starina " absolutely knocks it out of the park

Absolute favourites ever, The Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the dead, Hot fuzz and Worlds end). Love me some British comedy.

Then there is both the new Star Treks, Pride and prejudice (with Keira Knightley), Guardians of the Galaxy, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and the Harry Potters that I can rewatch when I get the time...

Has anybody seen Infinitely Polar Bear with Mark Ruffalo?

Is it worth seeing?

Very typical of people in this state. No matter what you tell them, they respond "Oh yeah?"  It wouldn't matter if you said "my house is gray" or "I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti". They would respond "oh yeah?" Nothing fazes these people.

Every time I go to the airport in Minneapolis, I think about the scene where he decides not to park. It cracks me up. It looks just like it does in the movie.

Fargo. I have watched that movie 3 times. Still don't card for it. I mean it has its moments but I just didn't care for it.

I'll tell ya a movie that I get more from each time I see it, Kill Bill.

It's really a good movie. Good story with interesting characters.

I loved that movie. Very suspenseful. Heck,  I love any movie with Bette Davis.

Two weeks ago, we went out for breakfast & the waitress' name was Charlotte. DH, who thinks he's a funny guy, asked her if anyone had ever told her to "Hush."

She didn't get it, and she looked to be in her forties.

So I decided to watch the movie. I love the use of light & shadows.

Somehow I missed this thread the first time. I'm also in the Birdcage camp. Some of my classic funny faves are Planes, Trains & Automobiles & Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I think the Ruprect the monkey boy scene is one of the funniest I've ever seen.

Finally finished Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte.

If you haven't seen it...you're missing out on a great movie.
