Says no one ever!!  Why do you hate Fridays?

I know that's strange, but it's our busiest day at work. And we have all the patients I really dislike today. Like the lady whose perfume scents our office for hours after she leaves and the guy we have to book double time for cleanings because he never shuts up long enough for the hygienist to get her work done.

And  a bunch of other stuff. They're trying to get a five year renewal on our lease since the architect said there was no way our office could ever be anything except dental. Suddenly the property manager doesn't want us out asap.

its really bumming me out because I was starting to look forward to doing something else. I know I still could, but it would be a good opportunity to retain this job with another dentist.

sorry for the whining. I have some serious thinking to do.

This.  Same concept (to me) as forgiveness.  True forgiveness stands alone and doesn't mean trust or love or "now we can hang out".  It means dropping the load of resentment/hate from your own shoulders.

Kindness, in the same way, has no strings.  It is simply a healing balm that makes the world a better place.  Enabling isn't kindness, it is a different animal, and we need to beware the difference.

I agree with both of you.

Flan wants to maintain a relationship with the mother of her granddaughter. I understand that need for a positive relationship. There is nothing wrong with wanting a positive relationship and keeping the lines open. It's a win win for the child in the long run.

That still breaks my heart about the Homecoming queen driving home and getting washed away just a few miles from her house.  That is so sad.

People have no idea how very bad it is here.  There is nowhere for the water to drain to anymore.  DH used to be a fireman and has pounded into all our heads about driving across a road full of water.  It only takes four inches of water flowing at seven miles an hour to totally sweep a car off the road.

People go out driving in this and aren't smart. Also, when it starts raining they race to get home even if it's not safe. Much safer to wait it out somewhere than to drive in a dangerous area. When it is actively raining it's one of the most dangerous situations.

Years ago, there was a flood here and DH and I did the DUMBEST thing ever.  It was winter and the water flooded our basement in our rental house so we had no heat.  DS1 was just a baby.  So, I had the brilliant idea of driving home to stay the weekend with my parents which was about an hour and half drive.  So, we loaded DS into his car seat and off we went.  Then , we came upon a flooded road.  So, instead of turning around, we , like two IDIOTS decided to drive through it.  Luckily, it was OK and we got through, but I shudder to think about how damn STUPID that was!

As a former fireman DH saved many people who felt like they needed to chance it.  I can remember his mantra.  He pounds it into our head.  My kids will never cross a low water crossing!

True. I remember one year the run that goes through our neighborhood crested over the only road into our development. The bus taking the kids home was not going to try it, so one of the neighbors took the children in until the parents could get through to get them. I was grateful that the boys were not yet in elementary school and happened to be home with me, safe and sound.

The main road outside our development floods several times a year. Far too often, someone still tries to cross and usually gets swept away.

I didn't know Panera made lobster bisque.  I like Blount brand from Costco.  It is honestly better than some I've paid $10 a bowl for in restaurants.

So, my "sweet" little DD has managed to piss off the last of her family support (on my side). I've told you how my sister thinks I'm just so mean to her and she's gonna be her saving grace...
Well Sweetness's party tomorrow is at sisters house. Sister and her husband are builders. They build multi million dollar homes. Their house is the "spec house". They buy land, build a spec house and live in it until the land is built up. Then they buy another plot of land...

Well, DD put sisters previous address on the invites. Sister realized it tonight and called DD to let her know. DDs suggestion was that sister go to old address and tell them that when people show up, tell then to give them the correct address. Sister is furious!!!!! This is gonna be a mess....
