Interesting. I had decided not to use Amazon Prime at the $99 cost. I dont' need videos, streaming movies, etc. I just want Cheap Shipping. So, I thought, what the heck, I am just going to send Amazon a quick email telling them why I was no longer shopping there. I sent them the following email:
""Fyi. I am not interested in Prime for videos and shows. I just want cheap shipping. $99 is too much. Take note of how little I have purchased since ending my prime membership. I will shop elsewhere. If u lower the price without the video stuff and only shipping then I would reconsider. But not at $99. ""
So today, I got an email from them saying I was getting a refund on some items I received and still have but did not request a refund on. I thought that was weird. It was a refund on 2 items in the amount of $50.90. I thought this was a mistake. Then, I got the following email:
Hello,
From your email, I understand that you are not interested in Prime for videos and shows but you need it for only shipping. Don't worry, I'll definitely help you with this.
I tried to help you with the prime membership only for shipping but since our systems are automated I was unable to do it. I sincerely apologize for this. But, I hope you can understand our limitations in this.
However, as a valid customer, I've made an exception to our standard procedure. To avoid any future inconvenience, I've issued a refund of $50.90 to your another order # . Please use this amount to pay for prime membership.
This refund will appear as a credit on your Visa card in the next 2-3 business days.
Once processed, you'll be able to see the refund here:
Use this refund to activate the prime subscription. You'll need to pay remaining $49 to activate prime subscription.
One of the benefits we try very hard to offer our customers is convenience. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
So, now I can get Prime for $49. Which is much more palatable so I think I will!
