13 Obsolete Office Supplies We’ll Probably Never Know How To Use

No, but really, what is a fax? Prepare for a new kind of modern office with wireless charging and biometric passwords, all powered by Intel.

1. This printer with a phone on it:

When would you ever use this?

2. This black-and-white phablet:

100% dropped call rate.

3. These old TVs:

And not a single preloaded game.

Hey, I still use the staples remover. Boss still uses a rolodex.

And I have an original black Bakelite rotary phone in my living room.

LOL Our grand's play with an old rotary phone in the garage. They love that thing.

Paper is still great for coloring with, you know, real crayons.

I still have CD's and a CD player.

We have a typewriter from 1904. It's really cool.

I still use my staple remover. I have a rolodex on my desk that I sometimes use. Not like I used to but occasionally I'll need a number not in my database. We still have one typewriter in the office it isn't manual though. I have CDs & DVDs.

I have no idea what #2 is.

Oh, yes. LOVE my staple remover. If people are not using that, what are they using? Those useless stick things?

I moved offices the first of May.  I tossed mine too!

I also had a filing cabinet full of paper files and a desk and credenza full of stuff.

I no longer have the filing cabinet.  I now have one desk drawer for files and a VERY small supply drawer.  And that is all...

Me too!  Years ago we were told our industry would go paperless.  Not our office.  When I am reading policy forms &/or exclusions I need it on paper not on screen.  I have a love of highlighters too.

Since computers first came into common usage, people have been predicting that paper would become obsolete.

Reality is that people use computers to PRINT things, and the use of paper goes up as computer usage goes up.

We are mandated to use as little paper as possible.  They literally ration our toner...

#5 I used to LOVE the microfilm and microfiche rooms at the big university library downtown. I went there to do all my projects when I was in middle school and high school.

That phone still sounds better than any of the digital ones.

We have one. Plug it and it still works.

I used an adding daily at work. I like them better than calculators.

I still like regular phones better then cell phones. I agree with Lily, you had better service. I still use my stable remover and I miss the old fashion typewriters. I'm playing a cd right now.

I still use an adding machine regularly too. We have a fax/printer/copier combo at work too that Bossman uses.

#2 looks like a Palm. Never used one.

We just donated/recycled the last of our classic style monitors. DH had 5 in the basement.

We actually still have 2 working rotary phones. One like that and one that hangs on the wall.

I never used microfilm or microfiche. We still use some discs but thumb drives have taken over.

I did use some not too long ago.  I can't remember the reason but I had to ask the receptionist who is responsible for ordering supplies if we had any & where it would be.

I don't know how long you have been doing this but I remember when you couldn't quote online & had to fill out an accord form for each line of business & submit 45 days ahead.  The old joke was basically the thicker the application the more the premium.  I remember my boss talking about 5lb accounts.

This!  many times.  Especially with Bossman's horrible writing.  Even tho almost all the applications are in .pdf format that you can fill in then print for signature.
