Yay for MM's DD! Opportunity of a lifetime! Hope you get your house.

Ironing? DH is the only one who will iron in this house. And he hasn't done it in years since he dresses business casual now. Oh, no, he did iron his dress shirt when he had to wear his suit for a funeral.

Freezer organization will have to wait for another day. I need at least three hours to do both freezers. Homework is taking longer than anticipated mostly because I keep delaying doing it. Laundry got done tho. Today was blankets and MILs clothes.

Congratulations to your daughter mm! That would be a trip of a lifetime for her even if she gets to go again in the future. A real adventure while young and with her friends/teammates. My dd got to go to England as part of her classes and had the best time. So happy for her.

My husband does the ironing in our house. He didn't like the way I ironed his clothes so I just let him do it. I also add my clothes to the pile.

She won't have much time to spend with me, she will be doing most of her sightseeing with the team and I don't know any of the other parents. It would be super awkward. And she is looking forward to doing this on her own so I think I will let her. As much as I want to go, I think she wants me to stay home. Lol.

Plus we are taking a family trip to Ireland in August, so I really need to keep the savings in tact for that trip.

 Ah. Gotcha.

Hopefully she will take lots of pictures and videos.

Put that way it makes sense.  I can see how she would want to do this on her own & I forgot about the Ireland trip.

17 months!

Not sure where the time went. He was such a quiet newborn. Rambunctious doesn't begin to describe him nowadays. I hope he mellows out some once he's past toddlerhood but I have a feeling the next 17 years are going to be a flurry of activity.

That's funny. Both my boys were born a handful. Still are. Leads me to believe some characteristics are inherent, not nurtured.

Oh he is. He's taking a nap right now, thankfully! If I could bottle his energy, I'd put 5 hour energy out of business :P

I anticipate many ER visits in his future. He's quite the daredevil. He found out earlier today that maybe ... just maybe ... running into his ball wasn't a good idea. He's fine but he let me know about the insult that is gravity wink

I remember those days. Chasing them around, dodging one potential catastrophe after another.

I loved it.

Hate to tell ya'll this, those are the easier times.

When they get older they go from walking on your toes to walking on your heart.

And I still wouldn't trade a second of it.

I agree - some characteristics must be inherent.

I have a friend who has a boy who will be 4 in September. He's like mine. Doesn't stop moving. I have another friend who has a boy who will be 1 in July. Same thing - doesn't stop moving.

On the flip side, I have two other friends with boys (both will be 2 in November, my DS will be 2 in December) and their boys are calm. One boy is so, so gentle with his toys. DS is the exact opposite. The other boy is somewhat active but still pretty calm.

Each of my DD's are totally different. DD23 would sit with crayons and paper and draw for hours on end. She would read to herself and play outside alone all day. DD17 couldn't sit still for more than a few minutes. She barely sat still long enough for me to finish reading a book and when she could read herself, rarely finished the whole book (even if she loved it). She never wants to be alone and would drag me outside to watch her play. Total opposites. People tell me all the time how different they are. Its amazing actually. It has to be genetic, I didnt raise them that much differently.

Heart stopping situation when I walked into my house tonight. i could smell something burning, smoke haze in the air. Turns out DD had put an english muffin into the microwave on 3 minutes. :( Caught fire. She cleaned out the microwave nicely and opened all the windows. This was 2 hours ago, the house still stinks.

 Could have been worse!

Good for her for at least cleaning up after herself.

Holy crap I was scared.  Funny, when I saw she had cleaned the microwave immaculately I was suddenly impressed! My emotions were all over the place!

And to think, I thought with the emotional roller coaster I was on I should be committed.  But you geeks back me up!  It's why I keep coming here and hanging out with the rest of you crazies.

Layla got all her doggie shots today. There's a new one out that protects them against diseases rodents carry. He recommended it so we got it. We nixed the shot for dogs who go to daycare. Our vet doesn't like dog parks or doggie day care at all.

Saturday the other two go to get their shots. Hemi has a sore on his nose too. Don't think it's anything serious but he's going to look at it. And he'll get his nails clipped.

I need to take Aksel to get his nails clipped. Now that it's summer weather and we have shorts on, he is slashing our legs to ribbons when he jumps up or off our laps.

I so feel that. Sonny has his nails clipped more frequently in the summer just for that!

Yeah. Happens in pups or dogs who spend lots of time around other dogs.

It's like a cold.

It's a virus.  Dogs typically contract it in close quarters where there are lots of other dogs such as a kennel or dog park.  There is a vaccine for it.  I have Sonny vaccinated if I am going to kennel him.

Yeah, our dogs just stay at our house so they don't need it.

We get the kennel cough vaccine every year even though she is RARELY kenneled. She goes to the groomer, and she goes to our friends house that has 4 dogs.
