I need to do a resume for school. So, I updated my resume to reflect the major changes I have had over my career. Even though I am changing fields completely, there are some relevant positions I have held (insurance, medical equipment companies). My resume is two pages long with schooling experience, skills and other possible pertinent info. Career Services has told me that this is not good and need to cut it down to one page. If I do that and keep the main relevant companies, there are large date gaps of employment which don't look good to me.
So, what say you? Do I shorten it and leave large gaps or missing info or just leave it to two pages?
I get resumes quite often. I like something simple and easy to read with no gramatical or spelling errors. I like it when time has been taken to format it in an easy to read way without making it too wordy.
