Which cars on the road are the most ticketed?

A study released in late 2014 by Insurance.com, a car insurance comparison-shopping website, found that one in three drivers of the Subaru WRX were charged with a recent traffic violation.

Here is a look at the 20 most ticketed cars. But remember, drivers, don't blame your tools. As Insurance.com managing editor Des Toups wrote in a statement releasing the numbers, "Cars don't get tickets, drivers do, but those drivers like the WRX."

Insurance.com analyzed online quote information submitted by 557,238 drivers between Jan. 1, 2013 and July 2014.

here under the lone star, theft is a factor in auto insurance but the AGE / RECORD of the driver is the most important determinant for cost of insurance and THEN the type of vehicle

have had several 185mph-plus capable vehicles over the last several months and the AGE / RECORD of the purchasers was the single most important factor in the ultimate cost of their insurance

Most of those are so boring, they are probably driven by teenagers which would explain the bad driving.

Around here, a lot of really cheap, old cars are driven by unlicensed people, either undocumented immigrants or people with mulitple DUI's .

Yep, the stats on the cars may be correct but they don't tell the real story.  It isn't the "cars" per se being pulled over but the driver.

Mini coops are awesome. When my current car is paid off I plan on getting a mini coop as a second car and get one of those awesome paint jobs, may even do pink/white with black racing stripes.

I got pulled over several times but only have gotten one speeding ticket.

I was driving the station wagon when I got the ticket.

I never got one when I drove the camero, Trans am, or any of the other cars I had.

Even the Buick regal with the V8, slicks and hood intake that was made for racing. Never got a speeding ticket in it.

So PTA Mom got a ticket, but Bad Girl in a Muscle Car didn't. Were you showing cleavage? Did the cops ask you out?

I got the most speeding tickets when I drove a Ford Escort. Made no sense to me. And once they pull you over and run your license and see you had a previous ticket, they will find a reason to give you another ticket, no warnings ever. Then a cop I knew that pulled me over told me the bumper sticker I had on the car was a "signal" to cops to pull the car over. I peeled that sucker right off as soon as I got home and it did get better almost immediately.

I drove an Escort for almost 15 yrs. Loved that car.

I got pulled a couple times in it. Never got a ticket though.

What was the bumper sticker?

Me too! I wore that car out !!!

It it was a bumper sticker of the sun that I found and I loved it. Apparently it was a Greatful Dead sticker. I looked all over the sticker and it didnt have any GD lyrics or symbols on it. But it was supposedly known to the cops as being a "Dead Head sticker" so I took it off. My problems decreased after that significantly. While I had that sticker on I got pulled over for going 5 MPH over the limit. I mean who gets pulled over for that?

5mph? Yeah that's weird.

The one ticket I got, I was doing 60 in a 45.

Out of town too. It's a wonder I didn't lose my license.

The only stickers I have on my cars are "PBA Sponsor" stickers.
