Never watched Magic Mike. Seen to many real life strippers and know there is no glamor in it at all.

Shutter Island starts good but about half way through you know what's going on. The online hidden object game is better. More frightening.

We want to see the Mad Max reboot. I still want to see the Poltergeist reboot. I will wait for them to come out on Netflix.

Afternoon yall.

My very first post. Did not address you. Did not have anything to do with you.

Loved Ted. Will be seeing Ted 2. Never saw Magic Mike. Don't care to. Won't be seeing Magic Mike 2.

I watched the first ten minutes of Ted and thought it was the stupidest effing thing I'd ever seen. I've seen the trailer for the second one and my mind was a little blown that it could possibly be worse than the first one!

I've seen neither. I'm not much into comedies. And I'm really behind on my movie-watching. I've been catching up on House of Cards.

Great minds!

Seriously though, I don't get the pissing match on this thread. Some people like Magic Mike. Some think it's stupid. Same with Ted. Same with any movie.

I don't really get it either.  We all like what we like.  I have found that the more great reviews I hear about movies the more disappointed I am when I watch them.

I disagree. Channing Tatum's character has to deal with the consequences of introducing a young kid to "the life," among other things.

The choreography was amazing & I was disappointed there wasn't MORE dancing.

OMG - I watched 21 Jump Street over the weekend & could not figure out who the good looking actor was........Channing Tatum.  I had finally decided he was the one from Glee who died but it just wasn't quite right.

I didn't like Ted. Not my kind of humor.

I did enjoy Magic Mike. I thought it was entertaining. I don't think watching scantily clad men dance is as erotic for women as watching scantily clad women dance is for men. It was just fun. I'm probably in the minority, but I wish the story line was more upbeat and not so dramatic. It would fit with the dancing better. But I know they were trying to sort of accurately represent that type of lifestyle.

Sounds like we would have the same taste in movies.  Not suprising as we are both Whovians.

I like my entertainment entertaining.  It does not have to have any other purpose, but I prefer it not to be stupid fart jokes and stuff.

DH is off to Norway. SS is staying with me through the end of the week. I went to the store and stocked up on popcorn. He loves movies and popcorn. He's excited because Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn come out on Redbox tomorrow. I bought him a puzzle to work too.

I did not think Titanic sucked.  It made me sob for 2 hours after it ended, though, knowing that it actually happened. I think they made it a little too well.   I won't watch it again.

Um, no?  I loved Titanic.  The first 600 times.  SS got addicted to it and we watched it so many times I was ready to vomit.  That and Unstoppable.  At least Denzel is nice to look at though.

I didn't care for Titanic either. I started crying before it even started. The footage of people boarding made me cry.

But I didn't care for the story they told.

Unstoppable was pretty good.

Nonstop was good.

Watched the Robo Cop reboot this weekend. At the end of Samuel L Jackson's lines one of us added "what's in your wallet". Made it bearable.

He's okay.  I like him.  Don't dislike but have others I like a lot more.  My DH's accent is way sexier.  But I do like the Taken movies.

I don't think his accent is very pronounced. Don't even think I really thought about it.

I just like watching him kick butt.

I have a soft spot for extreme violence.

That sounds way creepier than I mean.

LeBron was very nice and took the time to shake each player's hand afterwards and said something to each one. Not the typical slap and "good game" but more sincere and he actually said something about each player and how they played. Like "nice layup" or whatever. He is a nice guy. He does a lot for the community too. A lot.

The latest in the never ending saga of "Mellow Momma's Move" the school has decided that we should take someone else's home on campus. It is about twice the size as ours currently, is in a perfect location and...

Wait for it...

Is exactly where I told them they should move us when this whole thing began. no

There is a single woman in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house. She has seniority but she has no kids and she doesn't have a job title that would allow her better housing. I told them from the start that's where they should put us. But, true to male egos, it wasn't a good idea until THEY thought of it. I want to scream.

Oh, she is one of our dearest friends too. So that won't be awkward at all. But that's the boarding school shuffle for you. Everyone has lived in everyone else's house at one point or another.

Glad you will be moving to a larger house though. So, a WIN!
