Bouncy Castle Question

If you were at a party with a bouncy castle, and did a walk-around to see how well it was anchored ...

and you were NOT HAPPY with what you saw,

of course you would not let your own child get in it.

But would you also raise an alarm and demand that the other children get out? At least until it's tied down a lot better?

I would say something to the host about what I saw and why we were not in it. Something like "oh I bet you didn't see how the inflatable was set up! Let's go look. I know you wouldn't be happy with how it's set up because it looks dangerous and all these kids on your property, gosh we wouldn't want something to happen to them!"

I would totally say something. You don't have to be a jack ass about it. "Hey kids, you need to get out for a minute while we fix the tie downs. It will just take a second." "Hey Hostess - I just saw one of the stakes is loose, I am going to fix it real quick."

 Of course.

Tell the lady who had too many kids! She can toss her least favorite in there!

Yeah I'd get them out.

When you rent these things, here anyway, you have to have insurance to cover it and the people using it.

The ones setting it up have to have proper license to set it up and you have to have a licensed person running it.

The wind can't be above a certain mph.

It's a real process to get one here.

I would likely just properly anchor it myself.

I'm pretty sure that would take some equipment and wire cables that neither you nor I would have handy. Like anchors that screw into the ground.

Or maybe tie it to the frame of a truck.

A lot use what others would call tent stakes but these are a lot longer. Plus sand bags. I have seen one tethered to a porch as well as added security.

The biggest thing is keeping an eye on the weather and constant supervision.

Since DH used to be a QA/QC inspector and I was the one typing all the safety reports, absolutely pull the kids. DH used to do the ride inspections at Sesame Place (theme park) and he shut down a few attractions without any guilt at all. Safety first, especially with kids.

In reality, you will all just think "oh nothing bad will happen" and then you will put your kid in it. Why pretend otherwise?

I would tell the other parents.

If it started shaking in the wind, then I'd get kids out that weren't mine.
