Apparently the cousins that are coming in flew. They are in Atlanta's airport and have been for a while it seems.

Their flight to Chattanooga won't board till around midnight due to the weather.

They are maybe 1 hour and 30 minutes away.

I would not have the patience for that. I don't know why they don't just rent a car and drive. They are going to rent one in Chattanooga and drive about 30 minutes here.

Southwest offered $1100 to give up seats and re route to KS. Coming home 5 hours later. We jumped, but were second in line. Would have done it in a heartbeat...someone beat us to it...

last time I was in Tampa, they offered $500 to take a later flight to Ohio.  I was so tempted, but the later flight didn't get in until after 10 and I live over an hour from the airport.  It was Sunday and I had to work on Monday, I didn't think it was the best idea.

I was helping my parents look for flights to Phoenix. I found that they could fly to Vegas cheaper than Phoenix - and the first flight was the same! So, they get on flight A and it was more expensive to stay in Phoenix than to continue on to Vegas. I found that weird

I was leaving New Orleans and was told it was delayed and would probably not make the connection. I could take the chance the the connection would be delayed or stay in NO. They would comp the room in either city. I had turned in the car so I went to Denver. I missed the connection, when I got the hotel voucher I learned they had already booked me out the next morning.

Next morning I took a bump for a Road Trip ticket for a 6 hour delay. 6 hours later i took another bump and another ticket. 4 hours after that another bump and another ticket. 2 more hours I flew home.

I suspect that the casinos subsidize flights for passengers who stay in Vegas.
