 I don't. I can give you the example of immigration. I am very conservative on immigration. I dont think they should be allowed to have "anchor babies" here and I think anyone here illegally should be deported as soon as we determine they are here illegally. If you have committed a crime and are here illegally, then after you serve your prison sentence, I think you should get sent back to your home country and given to law enforcement only. No release into the "wild" so to speak.

 I don't think I ever have labelled myself as such. But others here do label me as such ALL the time. You can't dump everyone with a few similar views into the same bucket and call it a day.

 Well, there are some issues decidely more "liberal" than others.  When people consider issues of abortion, gay rights, and welfare a more compelling reason to vote for someone than education, immigration and the economy - then they have their priorities extremely skewed, and are very liberal.

I am liberal on some topics such as same sex marriage & conservative on economics & immigration. So I guess I'd be considered a moderate. My bff swears I'm Libertarian since I am anti government in people's every day lives. I generally don't care for labels & putting individuals in boxes.

 No third party has been elected to the Presidency in ages - throwing away your vote is not going to send that strong a message.

I can tell you this. In the next primary, I'm voting democrat so that I can vote against Hillary - I don't care who the other person on the ticket is (unless it's Nancy Pelosi). ANY Republican would be better than her.

It's like this. Are books such as Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn inherently "racist" in and of themselves, or are they a reflection of the time period they were written in and about?

To say they are the former completely IGNORES the fact that overt racism was alive and well in the late 19th/early 20th centuries.

You can't erase history simply by pretending it does not exist.

The flag "thing" on the other hand is different. It's not a "history", it is a symbol. Of course it existed--but much of what it represented should not be part of state governments. The history may not be erased--but the legacy of that history should be changed.
