NO slavery= no war. End of story. That is a historical FACT.
--------------------------------
It was economics. Not slavery.
Good Lord.

Since Lincoln was not sworn in until March, the following states had already seceded: SC (12/1860), MS (1/1861), FL (1/1861), AL (1/1861), GA (1/1861), LA (1/1861), TX (2/1861. 7.
See? I'm not just a pretty face! I know things!

And according to americanhistory.com, the "top 5" causes of the civil war were, in order, 1) Economic and social differences between the North and the South. 2) States versus federal rights. 3) The fight between Slave and Non-Slave State Proponents. 4) Growth of the Abolition Movement. 5) Election of Lincoln.
Are you seriously that dense? I have been attending a Quaker Meeting for over a year, and when Quakers came to America, the first colonies they settled in were Pennsylvania and Rhode Island...you know...THE NORTH.
flan
Pulling the Quaker card just to prove how anti slavery you are is laughable...lol

You SAID that you had NO problem with threads being combined.
According to YOU, the South doesn't "need" the North & ONE of the reasons you cited was Disney World.
flan
And I dont. But what does attending a Quaker Meeting, and spouting Disney World have to do with slavery or the confederate flag?

John Elefante lives 4 houses down from me...:)
That's awesome.

See? Hot cars and the boys that drive them have always been my weakness. I swear.
And, if I remember correctly, Kim Manners worked on both shows.
I still have a massive crush on John Schneider.

I can't help it if people cannot put ONE + ONE together and get TWO.
I'm sick of drawing pictures.

You don't even answer questions, let alone draw pictures.
Somebody give her some crayons. Maybe we can figure out what she's trying to say.

How drugged up are you?
flan
Sober enough to actually answer a question.

For some reason, I thought Schneider beat his wife. I could be thinking of someone else....
I don't think so. He was just in a movie we did. He's a serious Christian. Now maybe in his younger days, but he's not like that anymore...
I tried so hard to meet him. I was about 12 or maybe 14. He was going to be at The World of Wheels in Chattanooga.
I talked dad into getting us tickets. I was so patient waiting on the family to look at every little thing and then it was time to go meet him.
I rounded the corner and all that was there was an empty table and chair and a picture on the wall.
I cried. I was so heart broken.
I'm pretty sure he is the one I'd be completely star struck by.

And before there were those adorable boys in a car, there were these adorable boys in a car -
You know what's interesting...I TOTALLY had a crush on John Schneider. Bit now, Tom Wopat looks so much better to me...
I liked Tom Wopat better. I like dark hair. Katherine Bach was on Hawaii 5-0 last season as Kona's wedding planner. She has aged pretty well.
She also has a recurring role on Y&R.

I've resorted to Y&R ever since ATWT was cancelled. I've kind of watched Y&R off/on over the last 20 years or so anyway, so it was a natural transition. Bach is on there a lot as a the mother of a regular.
Since Jeane Cooper, a.k.a. Catherine Chancellor, the Dutchess, Ms. C, it seems to be floundering a bit.

As to the "state's rights" nonsense--there were NO OTHER issues that the South was concerned with EXCEPT for slavery.
Heck, even the tariffs would have eventually favored the Southern position as new, agrarian states such as Nebraska, the Dakotas, etc... were added to the Union.
Also, what was the Fugitive Slave Act of 1950 EXCEPT a gross trampling of state's rights.
In other words, the South was for state's rights when it suited them--namely to continue slavery--but wanted federal intervention when state's rights got in the way.
