I would not try to force them to accept my beliefs. I would live my life as I do, quietly. I would not try to force someone to accept my lifestyle as normal, if they do not consider it to be.

My beliefs might be insulting to gays, but gays belief that performing unnatural sexual acts is "normal" and "beautiful" is insulting to me. But unlike this movement, I'm not trying to force anyone to accept my beliefs.

Of course you are...every time you post.

Is the mere fact of them being allowed to get married forcing you to accept their lifestyle as normal? Or would you have to invited to the wedding for the force to be real?

By legalizing gay marriage, they are attempting to make their behavior acceptable and "normal" in society's eyes. By forcing Christians to bake gay marriage cakes, forcing churches to perform gay marriages, etc., they are forcing Christians to act against their beliefs and accept them as normal.

This has been rehashed and reiterated in many different ways. I'm not sure why you are having such a hard time comprehending this. I'm through trying to explain.

Interestingly enough, every time this has been put to a vote, it has been voted down. Even in the liberal bastion of California. This is NOT what the people want...

I just want to clarify, that I am against anybody being forced against doing something that goes against their religious freedoms. It is wrong that these cases go as far as they do, but people and their lawyers will go for the gaps if they can find them.

What I do want to say is that not all bakers/photographers are christians.

Not all christians who do offer these services will say no.

Not all who get the 'no' will sue.

It seems to always come back to this as though homosexuals only got this law passed so they can sue christians.

No, but they wanted MY county clerk, (an elected official) to perform a gay wedding. Now no one can be married by the country clerk...

That has to be the most retarded statement on this board.  Give me ONE example where ANY CHRISTIAN (not the Westboro people), a REAL Christian has said that.

That REALLY pisses me off that you would even go there.

You mean some of them. Just like some men have raped and gotten away with it on some stupid technicality... Does that mean all men are culpable now??

You are not this dense...I know this.  If it becomes law (and in many [places it already has) that you MUST serve contrary to your religious beliefs, then it's not like some men getting away with rape.  It's EVERYONE that owns a business has to comply.  Don't be stupid...

That is simply a retarded comparison.  No one is suggesting that rape becomes legal--but these lawsuits are legalizing religious persecution.  no, I don't mean "some" of them.  This is what the movement wants, and you support the movement.  NO ONE is supporting some rapist movement.

???  Duh.  Nor should we have to accept such perversion.  This is exactly what we are talking about.  You don't really want rights--you want everyone to think exactly the way you do.  A group think mentality where no one can offer a differing belief.  All power to the state.

As have I.  You cannot even IMAGINE the Facebook posts this last week.   Saying all churches should be burned, saying they intend to wipe out religion.  Just read the comments on a HuffPo article.  These are the meanest, vilest people out there.  MOST of the vitriol is coming from the gays....

I accept that they exist. I have a couple gay relatives. I love them as I do my straight relatives. But I do not think their "orientation" is something to be proud of or celebrated.

Sometimes I am... dense that is. Had my widom's removed when I was 14, so sometimes it misfires... specially when it gets cold.

If it's law, then you are in a pickle. Glad it's not my pickle. I have read though that some places have signed it in that discrimination is ok. I'll see if I can find the article.

Like I said in an earlier post, seems our laws make it easier for everyone. Business entities are impersonal. It cannot discriminate, regardless of the owner or the employees stance. Some find ways around it citing schedule conflicts, or stock shortages or whatever to get around it without getting sued. But most companies here know it's suicide to turn work away, (not because they'd get sued, but because the market is very competitive). If you as an employee have an issue, you either work it out with the employer, most will try to help you out. There are times you'd have to suck it up or look for another job. Unemployment is at about 23-ish% here, so work is work.

That has to be the most retarded statement on this board.  Give me ONE example where ANY CHRISTIAN (not the Westboro people), a REAL Christian has said that.

That REALLY pisses me off that you would even go there.

Fine.

Homosexuals have been around since the dawn of time. They are BORN that way.

flan

What does that have to do my request?

It's one logical conclusion. Over the years, I've read many angry & ugly posts.

flan

As have I.  You cannot even IMAGINE the Facebook posts this last week.   Saying all churches should be burned, saying they intend to wipe out religion.  Just read the comments on a HuffPo article.  These are the meanest, vilest people out there.  MOST of the vitriol is coming from the gays....

As we have said time and time again, there are AZZHOLES in every group.

And Reason #319,445 why I don't have Facebook. It lends itself to this CRAP.

The problem is that the azzholes  on "your" side are winning...and forcing everyone to comply to their *******ry...

They are winning because they have the tacit support of everyone.

This has been rehashed and reiterated in many different ways. I'm not sure why you are having such a hard time comprehending this. I'm through trying to explain.

It doesn't matter if you are against it or not.  It's happening and will continue to happen.  Because of this, my religious rights are being infringed upon.

Has anyone forced you to bake them a cake?

She's not a baker--but they have forced people out of business over their perversion.

You mean some of them. Just like some men have raped and gotten away with it on some stupid technicality... Does that mean all men are culpable now??

That is simply a retarded comparison.  No one is suggesting that rape becomes legal--but these lawsuits are legalizing religious persecution.  no, I don't mean "some" of them.  This is what the movement wants, and you support the movement.  NO ONE is supporting some rapist movement.

So all gay people are suing christian businesses?

Every single gay person I know IRL and on fb wants to strangle someone every time a lawsuit gets going. Apparently it wasn't on their copy of the agenda at all...

We've seen tons of support on this forum for such lawsuits.  The one against the bakers, in particular.

I completely understand. That one case goes both ways for everything. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. As I've said, I've seen the discrimination being ok'ed as well. So there's one of those too. All it takes is one.
