Which is what DD has done, perhaps two levels, takes her two days to go through a book.  Of course, she doesn't have a job...

He wants to finish the Hardy Boys series so I will let him do that over the summer.  We'll push him when he finishes that.

Oh good lord, not only will DS and Mom be here for dinner tomorrow but also my Bro and his family are contemplating coming, which means I want to invite my niece and nephew who live in Boston. Would love them all to come up. But please, people, let me know now! Need to grocery shop.

Just make something you really like so you won't mind eating the leftovers if they don't come.

Grrr, I was going to do a stuffed sole (stuffed with crab meat) for mom,  Can't expand that and freeze easily!

So maybe make the stuffed sole, and make something else also. Like maybe spaghetti with meat sauce? That's quick and fairly easy, and stretches to cover a lot of people AND leave good leftovers.

He should finish for sure. It's a great series.

Is it the same as when I was a kid? I remember the tv show too. Barely but I remember it.

The books are exactly the same but they have updated the covers.

Just got a dust storm warning. Now watch it miss my area.

So. Dust storm. The dust storm itself missed my area but we got the high winds from it. Said high winds broke a good-sized branch off one of the trees by the parking lot. Knowing that I parked near another tree, I went out to check on my truck. There's a platform thingy (I think it's covering the water main, not sure) by the tree that the branch fell from. DH and I were standing on it trying to figure which tree was less of a threat (the one by our carport or the one by the open spot I parked in) as far as losing a branch was concerned. Suddenly, DH yells "omg honey look out!" because another branch was coming down. I throw my arms over my head and immediately a gust of wind blew me off the platform. I swear I didn't step, dive, jump, or otherwise move myself. I landed on the rocks hard. Among other things, I have a bad gash on my left knee (thankfully didn't require stitches but is missing a good-sized hunk of skin) and a nasty sprain on my left ankle. Looking back, I realize that that gust of wind must've been my guardian angel. I missed going into the corner of the building head first by about a foot. I missed getting clobbered by a huge branch (ER doctor saw the pic of said branch and called it half a tree). Not a scratch on my glasses. Nothing broken. Not a scratch on my phone, which was in my left pocket. Thank you Lord for sending my guardian angel to save me.

My new BFF for the next few days ... (ER broke out the plaster for the splint and warned me not to get it wet. Yay for sponge baths!)

Spoiler

and the branch of doom ... (the platform thingy is visible in the lower left corner)

Spoiler

Glad to hear you are relatively okay, chef. That sounds scary and could have been a whole lot worse.
