We've had lawsuits against churches, photographers and bakers who did not want to participate in a same sex wedding.
When you have 2 groups with rights - why does one trump the other? Why can a gay couple FORCE a Christian photographer to shoot their wedding or else sue them to put them out of business? Who does that? Mean, nasty people who have no respect for the rights of others, that's who.
And people will say - oh, that's the minority of homosexuals - but then they argue against the Christians when it happens!
The minute one tries to interfere with the other's way, be it to force the cupcakes or to force the bible, one could be seen as nasty. I guess it depends on what side of the fence you are standing.
How is not baking a cake forcing the Bible on someone? They didn't go out and seek the homosexuals - it was the other way around. Believe it or not, Christians don't go around hunting down sinners - ain't nobody got time for that.
When I said forcing the bible, I was not thinking of not baking cakes, more like Westboro type antics.
Ok - those are crazy nuts. But even being crazy nuts - how are they forcing homosexuals to do anything?
Crazy nuts they may be, but in the case of Pastor Anderson, he is advocating violence. He is preaching death for homosexual. I struggle to see how his congregation reconcile themselves with that and the law of the land.
And in Africa (yes, not in America, but still) those threats have been followed through on for religious reasons. In the East too.
After the ruling I saw, way more than I ever thought possible, gay people preaching for the deaths of any known Christians.
Can you post some of them here? I'd like to see some of those as well.
I don't think it would be wise to take things off my FB wall and put them on here. Something feels wrong about posting names on here. And without the name there's really no way to show who said it. I wouldn't want someone to post my name on a message board.
I will say that one young man, he is 18, was saying he hoped to see Christians chopped up into little pieces and/or set on fire. His mother was posting on his feed about how Christianity was all bullchit anyways and she was glad we were all offended by the decision. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Talking about teaching hatred.

You are right, that is aweful. I used to be in a few groups where those kinds of things were going around, it boiled down to wishing not just atheists, but any one who professed faith in a god other than theirs to die so they could see their truth for themselves.
I had to leave. There is no talking to people when they get all rabid like that. Unfortunately, the ugly does not discriminate. They are in all groups imaginable.
And yet more proof that religion is being confused with being a Christian.
No where in the Bible does it say to kill those of other beliefs.

The qaran, or however it is spelled, says non believers are to be killed.
No. I haven't read it. But I have heard enough from those who do and have to know.

And you don't see groups of Christians shooting up malls and beaches or lining up people and shooting them on film or lowering them in cages do you?
No. That's what ISIS is doing.

Actually if you want to be technical about it the Quaran does not call for destroying all the people who are not Muslim. And Jihad does not technically mean holy war. I have read the Quaran. ISIS has totally twisted what the Quaran has to say. Most mainstream Muslims do not like what ISIS does. But they won't stand up and say so because they are afraid of ISIS. FTR, Jihad means personal struggle within oneself to remain holy.

Have you ever been part of the Muslim community?

And I never said that ISIS doesn't exist or that there are a whole sect of Muslims that want to kill off Americans. Nor did I say that the word Jihad isn't used to describe the war they are waging on Americans.

Yes I have. I dated two different Muslim men. One for six months. He was really great and everything went well until he informed me that he believed in the "old ways". Which means he was more extreme. That ended that. I dated a Muslim doctor for awhile too. He was really nice and had a great sense of humor but thought because he was a doctor he was better than everyone else. He was just generally a PIA and that had nothing to do with being Muslim. I made an attempt to understand their culture. I talked to many Muslim women in their community. So yes, I do have some basic knowledge of what the Quaran says. I do not claim to be an expert. I just said that like some pervert Christianity, ISIS perverts the Muslim community.

I know. I understand that for you everything that isn't Christianity is bad and evil. I'm sure your Christian "experts" told you how wrong everyone else is.

And it is just as wrong to lump every single Muslim person in with the ISIS group as it is to lump every single crazy Christian group in with the Christians.

Actually, my experts are well known and revered and have a very clear understanding.
And no. Every single Muslim is not the same.
But they read from the same book.
True Christians are quick to denounce the idiots like Westboro.
But it don't see the same from the Muslim community.

Is christianity not a religion?
Religion is man's term for the colective rituals and doctrine of a group.
Christian means follower of Christ.
Yes, a Christian can be part of a religion. But when the religion takes over walk of the person with Christ, problems arise.
I know some will not understand this, argue with it. Fine. But that's the problem with religion.

Better to learn for yourself. That's one of the reasons I left religion. The whole metaphor of sheep was getting too close to home...
I trust them. They are well known and well educated on the subject.

I don't have a qaran, I'm not going to buy one, I refuse to have one in my house.

I am not afraid of learning about other faiths. I am not afraid to read their "holy books". It is not a sin to read it. It is a sin to follow it if you believe in God. And furthermore, if you read other holy books and you are truly a Christian all it will do is make you more secure in your beliefs.
The reason more Muslims aren't screaming about what ISIS is doing is that because, in case you haven't noticed, they kill anyone who speaks out against them. Christian or Muslim. How many people have we seen die? I'm sure many Muslims who don't believe in violence don't want to speak out because they fear for their lives.
I found several passages in the Quaran to be inspiring. However, I believe in God and I know what I believe in. Reading the Quaran helped me deepen my faith in a religion I already believed in. It didn't threaten my beliefs.

Also, I find a lot of works inspiring. There are non religious authors I find very inspiring. Doesn't mean I worship them. Nor does it mean I'm demeaning my God by reading what they write. I can read the book of Mormon and not be threatened and feel like I am going to hell.

The gay community is also calling for the release of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and queer illegal immigrants, too.
Democrat Dream Voters: LGBTQ Illegal Immigrants Protest In Front Of The White House Anyone know if Hillary Clinton was out campaigning in front of the White House Tuesday afternoon? Or any Democrat looking for a cheap way to get votes?
According to this, "trans and queer" illegal immigrants held a "die-in" in front of the White House on Tuesday because those were two census-check-boxes that JUST NEEDED to be combined (just ask this crazy chick). From the article -
Undocumented "trans and queer leaders" held a "die-in" by the White House Tuesday to demand an end in detention of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and queer illegal immigrants.
It was organized by the group United We Dream, a youth immigrant group.
The group said in a release that "Advocates will descend on the White House to cap off Pride month, protesting President Obama's policy of detaining lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer immigrants where they face well documented abuses at rates many times those of the general population."

Not baiting. Expecting an adult to be able to communicate thoughts and opinions in a coherent manner is not baiting.

That's how it works here. flan says something to support the latest cause. We all ask her questions about her stance on her own words and she calls it baiting or trapping. I'm pretty sure that's the way it will always be. Just don't ask questions she can't answer and we'll all save some time...

Your assertion is that two consenting adults that love each other should have the right to marry. That should include a 35 year old man and his 33 year old brother. Right? They are consenting adults. Why should they be denied the right to marry?

I thought you were intelligent enough to realize that two consenting adults who ARE NOT RELATED was implied in my statement.
