No celebration of the 4th in Canada, but we do celebrate the 1st and I studies and slept through all the fireworks. :(

The fourth is Pooch's birthday. We shall have icing covered biscuits. Well, he will. I won't. Ick.

DH was planning on working 8 hours, then helping out at the Lions Club (carnival + food).

He just emailed me to say that he did not feel good & will be home about 2:00.

If I hide his car keys...would that be so wrong?

Spent the last 2 days with the niece and nephew. Spoiled them rotten at the Lego store and the American Girl store. Rode all the rides at the Mall of America with them. As we were leaving, niece pointed to a sign and asked what it said. When I replied "it says the Mall is this way" she said "there is a MALL here? Cool!" Lol

I got to read all of my favorite books to them at night before I tucked them in, and they fought over who sat by me and DH at dinner.

It was a good 2 days. Now, off for the weekend. DD needs to pack for her trip, she leaves on the 10th and we have a lot of things to try and pack.

Happy Day!

I eventually made it home yesterday. Got to the airport 2 hours earlier than I had to be there to try to get an earlier flight home. Not for an extra $260. Scheduled flight left the gate a few minutes late but we sat on the tarmac for two hours due to storms. Then the airport closed so we went back to the gate. After an hour, we were informed that they needed to change the flight crew since the pilot was timing out. Then they had to reissue everyone new boarding passes. Was supposed to be home at 4:30 but did not get home until 9:30 last night.

I had a good time in Florida. Celebrated Mom's companions 90th birthday by me cooking a turkey dinner with some people bringing some of the sides. BFF and DNephew17, DNiece15 and DNiece3 came and we had a fabulous time. I really miss my kids. Yes, my nieces and nephews are my kids too. They are growing up too fast. DN17 just graduated and will be 18 in less than 2 weeks.

Today, we are getting most of our errands and chores done so we can relax for the next two days. Going to try to head over to First Friday Festival in next town over for dinner. Tomorrow will be steaks on the grill.

I am also beginning to feel that something does not want me to graduate in December. I have had three classes cancelled on me so far just for Summer classes. I have been able to replace them so far but this cannot keep happening. Especially after I buy the books!

Beautiful sunrise today; now its cloudy. Got up early to bake cookies for the contractor who is fixing the floor in the kitchen (he sampled some when he came to give us the estimate ). He's been here 5 hours and is working his butt off - cleaning up after himself all along the way! Found the cause of the "humps" in the kitchn - condensation on the duct work for the a/c. The insulation had to be torn out & replaced before they put in the new flooring.

Word to the wise: if you are buying a "manufactured" house (mobil home), make SURE that they used real plywood for the flooring, and not OSB or particle board!

Home from getting DD from Grandma's. On my way there, the traffic headed the opposite way was horrible, every highway was a parking lot. I was concerned that I would be in that traffic on my way home, but nope! It cleared up. Everyone was heading to the Cape or to the northern beaches in NH and Maine.

Busy busy for me. I worked out! First time in a couple days due to being busy. Started a loaf of bread and a chicken in the crock pot. Now to go visit Miss Clairol.

The kids and I have cleaned the house, top to bottom. It's so much easier now that they are older. They do a really good job of keeping things picked up anyway.

Ok. So dinner out. I need a hair cut.

I think about coloring my hair sometimes. But I dont. Use to though.

I don't have much planned for the weekend. Bought a bunch of produce and made some salads, there was a pretty good sale: a melon mix, a berry mix, and a roasted corn and black bean salad. Gonna grill up some steaks.

Drive here Flan, doing the city with DS tomorrow and another friend of mine. Then perhaps fireworks tomorrow night or just hanging on the deck and watch the 'hood fireworks. I have a blender.

DD and I just gave Sonny a bath, brushed his teeth, cleaned his eye snot, etc. Put him on the deck to dry off. He is sooo excited to be home, I think he wants another walk. I just don't have it in me until later.

Well. My experiment with aleve is a bust.

It was helping the joint and rib pain. But the stomach and chest pain is just too much.

Back to the drawing board.
