DH doesn't do well with the puppy years. Takes time to train them through the accidents and so forth. But, I don't mind. I just don't want to ruin our carpeting though.

Get one from a shelter. Mine was 11 months old and was fairly well house broken.

We really don't have any local shelters. And, I want a nonshedding dog. I dont' know what I am getting a shelter necessarily.

Well dayum. I efiled my son's taxes with HR block software. I THOUGHT it went thru. Well, no refund. Then I got back on the stupid software and it said it was rejected. I had his SS number wrong so I just redid it and refiled. Now it is rejected again. We have claimed him as a dependent since he lives at home is in college full time. But, he made his own money working at BK so I assumed he was supposed to file as well independently? I don't know. I will have to call the IRS on Monday to figure this out.

Yes he has to file independently. Since he is late filing you may need to do something else.

And its nice have my morning coffee with you and flan! Looks as though we are the only ones up.

I slept very late today, until 7:15. Felt great.

Love being on vacation. Spent a few days on Cape Cod, now we're back home.

May stay local today, putzing around the house, might take pooch to the local pond for a swim.

Nothing taxing.

I hate puppies. Too much work. An older, well-trained dog I can tolerate. And small. And outside only.

Resting today. We had a busy time yesterday. The neighborhood party ended up being a "go", as the rain stopped in time. Then I made my coleslaw to take to my mom's, then we spent the day there...in between rain storms we were able to get some hot tub time, firework time, and watermelon time. We were all exhausted.

Exactly. You can claim him as a dependent and get the benefit of that. But on his when it asks how many dependents he will answer zero. Usually if they make very little money to start with they get all their taxes back that way.

We SURVIVED!!!

Oh my, did we have a fun four days! DS, DGF and DGS came on Thursday, my mom came on Friday, and of course the oldest and her family all were here as well. We ate to much, drank to much, and partied to much!

Local block party Friday night, with a fireworks show, was great. The fourteen of us took a lot of room, but I brought fresh chocolate chip cookies and all was good. ;)

Grilled yesterday, had the grand's all day, took professional family pictures, drank to much, ate to much and blasted a lot of fireworks. I am once again familiar with 2 a.m. ;)

Everyone is back in their own home today. Mom left this morning and DG and his family left shortly after noon, so it will be 5 p.m. before they get home.

Overall, one of the best 4th's we have ever enjoyed. We are content.

Similarly, if you provided more than 50% of THEIR material support, you could claim THEM. But at no time would you put any adults income on your tax form other than a spouse. Adults file independently unless they are married and filing jointly.

We actually did this one of the years DN lived with us. Her income was so low she was going to get everything back anyway. So we claimed her as a dependent to help us since we were honestly supporting her. However, we did not claim her income. Then she filed her own income tax and claimed zero dependents and claimed her income. It helped us and she still got all her taxes back. It is perfect legal. What you cannot do is claim the person twice as a dependent.

Lily, the tax code was significantly changed in 1986, prior to that when you and I were teens, our parents claimed us as dependents and we also could claim some sort of thing on our own.

So on my walk with the dog, I found a wallet in the road. I called the PD when I got home and they said they would pick it up. A cop I know came by to get it. I asked him about some of the inexpensive condo complexes to see about crime etc. One I have been looking at he said is a good one that they have no issues there. I may put an offer in on one as an investment property.

Perfect summer weather here. Stayed up late, woke up late.

Another quiet lazy day. Reorganized and took inventory of garage freezer. Still need to do the basement one. And the kitchen one. This was very out of control and no meal planning could be done because I had no idea of what we have. Now I can meal plan again.

Last day of no homework. Classes start up again tomorrow. I have three for the next round. Still need to work on getting 1 class waived and another substituted. I just wish they would stop cancelling classes on me that I have to find another that will work.

I just have to step out of my financial comfort zone. i need to do it. The price is fantastic. I think I need to research rental incomes a bit more to be comfortable.

Enjoyed leftovers from yesterday for dinner.
