Morning.

Man. I forgot how early morning actually is.

Jesse has his Senior pictures this morning. That is if they still take them. I got a notice the first of June and didn't really look at it. Didn't call to confirm. Oh well. We will try. May have to reschedule.

Can you believe the sitting fee is $60? And that does not go towards the price of the portraits.

Bonus! I have a headache. Just a nagging, notice it's there headache.

Have a great day yall.

And meanwhile, California would pay for rain.

The rain would be helpful here too.... nearly 200 wildfires burning with an estimate of 30 new each day until the weather reduces; which is not in the forecast. Heavy smoke in the valleys due to all the fires is making the air quality 4x the usual. Restaurant patios are closed, children's summer camps are doing indoor activities and all outside sports are recommended ceased.

The rain would be a big help!

Morning All! Cloudy and overcast here with storms this afternoon.

School is back in session, started Monday. I have three classes.

One is specifically designed for the fresh, out of high school student. But I need the credit in the category since they kept cancelling the class I really wanted. It's a health and wellness class. I've already rolled my eyes at least three times while reading the book, Chapter One. The questions don't even make sense to me anymore since I am not 18-20. "Have you ever had to deal with a stressful situation? Since you probably have not, ..."

At least the other two classes are challenging, so far.

Sooo.... would you please, if you ever find yourself in the presence of one or all the actors, maybe get me an autograph or picture or used napkin or hair clipping or some something or other? Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease........ with whip cream and cherry on top? Cause they are my favorite ever, in the whole wide world.

biggrin

I'll be your bestie for ever and ever.

Congratulations to you and your son. It is a bittersweet wonderful time. I say bittersweet because you wonder how time flies and they grown up so fast but realizing you did your job as a parent and how proud you are of them.

Lily - that's an awesome comparison! You must be so proud!

Surprised the school allows facial hair. I don't know of any schools that allow that around here or back home.

Really?  We had full beards on guys when I was in school, in the 80s. I don't know of any school than prohibits it...

I was also in school in the 80's and our school forbid beards. They even checked sideburns - they were only allowed to be a certain length. I just checked the dress code there and they still forbid them. None of the public schools in my hometown allow beards.

That's interesting. I would never have given it a second thought.  Both of my boys sported beard in HS...

Thanks HM and flan!  I'm working on not dieting but making my diet healthier.

jlbear I admire you.  School is tough.

Tig, I hope ya'll can get some rain soon!

I slept with the ice machine on so my knee is better.  I'll be glad to get the knee braces for days like yesterday.  I'm thinking they'll help for the tough days.  Now to get the muscle cramps under control.

We're getting SS today.  Tomorrow our library is kicking off the big civil war exhibit.  They are here for a month.  Saturday they are doing a lecture on trains from the civil war era.  I think we're going to take SS to it.  We're going to go see the exhibit tomorrow.  DN's work is having a big family thing at the zoo.  They're having lunch and games.  We're going to go to that.  And I think tomorrow we're going to celebrate Fathers Day.  Monday SS starts music camp.  Busy busy.

When I was in high school (I graduated in 1990) the teachers were not even allowed to have beards. I am sure that has changed by now. Or maybe not. Who knows. I only know because we had a teacher who was young who would get busted by the principal for it once in awhile when he had not shaved for a few days.

We're the same age, MM.  I would have graduated in 90 too.  We had teachers with beards.  Even at the all girls Catholic school I attended, the some of the male teachers had beards...

Isn't that strange? The Catholic schools DDs went to were SUPER strict about facial hair. The assistan principal had a razor and shaving cream in his drawer in case you were spotted with growth!

More rain...but nothing like what you Texans had to cope with.

It's a soothing sound, if you don't have to drive in it.

It rained a little bit earlier. Enough to get the ground wet and make roads slick.

I think DS is gearing up for a nap. He crawled up on the couch and is sitting watching TV.

Thanks again yall.

O4 and MM, I graduated high school in 89. (Being a teen in the 80s was awesome by the way)

And facial hair was fine. No one said anything.

Of course every truck in the parking lot had a gun rack with hunting riffle, fishing pole and backup ball cap in it. Most had a bow and you bet there was a blanket a cooler and the truck was covered in mud.

Gosh those days were fun.

Anyway, Jesse has had a bread since about 7th grade. Not kidding.

And yes, I am very proud and humbled to be his mom.
