No, I've seen that here. There have been derogatory comments about liberals. (like "Snopes is run by liberal idiots." or "I don't like liberals.") And that's OK, if that's your opinion. However, direct personal attacks are another matter altogether.

Couldn't we take the same position that non-believers take when someone says they are going to hell? I'm referring to the "you don't know what you are talking about, so I will give that reference all the significance I feel it deserves" attitude. To a non-believer they are nothing more than fairy tales. That doesn't make it true for a person who believes though, does it? What harm does it cause us to let others have their beliefs?

They can have their beliefs--but let's say I was discussing religion with a Jew.  Would I say their religion is a bunch of nonsense even if I don't agree with it?  No, I would not. 

I don't even do that with atheists.  If you'll notice, I didn't post a response to the "big bang" posts.  I don't tell people they are going to hell, either.  When asked, I state what I believe about what the "requirements" are to get in--or not--and they can take it from there.
