I think I spent about $50 on my purse at Macy's. I will use it until it falls apart. I had my last one over 10 years & my friend finally convinced me to throw it away because it gave a whole new meaning to the word hobo bag.
I bought 4 Claiborne bags and wallets about ten years ago.
I have 8 Claiborne bags and wallets, 2 Vera Bradley and an Agner.
My vacation bag is a Walmart discount hobo bag.
My favorite fanny pack is from Disney World. It has Mickey on it.

Mine could become a very expensive hobby. But I realized it a long time ago.

Huh....I never give mine much thought except when I'm buying it. It has to be the right size, shape & the straps have to be a certain length. After purchase I put all my stuff in it & never give it another thought. I just grab it off the chair in the morning & go. I could never be the type of woman who switches out her purses to match her outfit. Mine is medium brown leather & as far as I'm concerned goes with everything.
I don't switch my purse out with every outfit, but I tend to wear pretty much the same colors every day. Black and white. Seriously, my closet looks like a uniform locker at a restaurant. There's very little color.
So I use my bags to add color. Oranges, bright greens, blues, bright yellows. It make my bland wardrobe look a little more colorful in public...

I would lose all my stuff if I switched purses. One purse is all I need. I can barely remember that one, lol. It has to be a medium size and hang off my shoulder. And, it must have zippers. I can't stand flaps or open purses or buttons. When I bend over with my purse on, I don't want all my crap falling out.

I just leave mine open. It has one of those magnetic closes in the middle but I don't bother. I guess I don't bend over with it. I have hit the breaks a few times & had it fly off the seat & crap go everywhere but it can't get far in the car.
I do have seasonal bags. And some are bigger than others.
I don't take my nice bags to amusement parks or on vacation though.
I found a beautiful tangerine bag I really wanted. But I couldn't justify the cost. So I passed.

I change my handbag to match my outfit. I have black, brown, khaki, and gray and I wear the one that matches me.
I also spend money on my handbag. But like O4 said they last longer, and they look nicer too.
I also spend money on nice shoes. I refuse to wear cheap shoes - your feet are too important.
But a nice handbag makes me smile. Btw - it's a purse if it's under $100. If it's more than $100 it's a handbag, according to Miss Manners.
I've bought exactly 2 handbags in my life but I returned one because it had a messenger strap & I didn't realize when I ordered it. I used the other one for a winter & then put it in my closet & my dying cat peed in it. So $50-$75 is my comfort zone.
This is one of my favorite purses to carry. It's small and only holds what I just can't live without. A small wallet, my phone, keys, chap stick, a pill case, and my inhaler.

I get mine at outlets and after season.
The four bags and wallets I got at the same time were a grand total of $136. Yes I still remember cause I was so proud of myself.

Sure! I'll tell him how much easier it'll make life for you.
Of course you could just bat your eyes and smile your sweetest smile and I bet he'll cave.

Now, if you could just all send a quick email to G and tell him how much I REALLY need a Birkin. He doesn't believe me...
O M G ...me too!! I would do hideous things for a Birkin bag. It's almost impossible to even get on the list , even if you DO have the money though. With you connections in the music industry you would probably be able to at least get on the list.
Its my dream bag. Whenever I see the Hermes logo I swoon.

I'm cheap when it comes to purses. I refuse to spend over $20. It usually takes me about 3 years to wear out a purse. I like the long straps so I can put it on my shoulder and prefer black cloth purses. Zippers and pockets are a must.
I put my purse on the ground without giving it a second thought so I advise not licking the bottom of it ... :P

Oh, well, then I have never owned a handbag! lol But, seriously, to each his own. If you have the money and that is something you enjoy, then go for it. I spend money on other things that other people would probably be like WTF?
