So when did having a cake become a right. That falls under privilege in my book.

You can't just refuse to serve someone because you don't like them. But you CAN refuse to serve their cause, such as delivering a cake to a KKK rally, or writing hateful messages on the cake.

Gay rights is a cause.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.

At the end of the day, the question isn't whose beliefs are "right" or "wrong".

The question is in a free society where we purport to value things such as freedom of speech and freedom of religion--do people have a right to stand up for their beliefs--or not?

It CANNOT be "well, this group absolutely has that right because I agree with them, and this group does not because I don't agree with them"--that is fundamentally unfair and hypocritical--and it also means you DON'T value those aforementioned freedoms.

Sure, there has to be limits where harm to others may be the direct result--but let's look at that.

What is the "harm" if Murray and Family catering doesn't want to cater a Neo-Nazi event? Does it mean they can't hold their event? No--they just have to find a different caterer.

Similarly, what is the "harm" if Go With God caterers don't want to cater a gay wedding? Does it mean they can't get married? No--they just have to find a different caterer. This is NOT 1960 in the deep south where they can't find another caterer to do it. There would be a dozen others who would. That comparison is INVALID.

Plus, we are told all the time that society is changing, you need to get on the "correct" (in their warped view) side of history, blah, blah, blah.

Yet, they don't practice what they preach. If they truly believe that, then let the market sort it out. If all these people who support gay marriage refuse to have Go With God caterers for any event, then pretty soon--they'll be out of business.
