Baby A is sick andcant sleep. Or I should say, she can't sleep unless I am holding her while standing and swaying for hours on end. I am not feeling great either.. And now I am so tired.

Hope everyone else has a better start to their Wed.

Healing thoughts to NAOW and FWM

Beautiful, sunny summer day! 80s and lower humidity.

School day. Must get done two classes.

Hives are back with a vengeance this morning. They were back some yesterday. And now they have traveled up to my middle back area. I am really believing that this is viral. I have run out of other ideas. If it is something like shingles, it sure is presenting very abnormally.

I've got a bunch of veggies from the garden. Good start to the harvest. Think I will make a veggie soup from half of it. Nosh on the rest.

I hope baby A gets better soon. It's horrible having a sick child.

Hope you get better, FWM. Summer colds are the worst!

Shingles will only occur on half of the body, Jlbear71. They are quite painful, too. I've had them. If you are in pain, see your doctor right away. If it is shingles, if caught within 3 days, they can be easily treated and won't last as long.

That's the thing, there is no pain, just itching. But I have been known to present things really weirdly. I am really grasping at straws here. I don't go back to the docs until Friday. Today is the first that anything has appeared on the back. It's been just on the legs until now.

Interesting. I was told it's neurological and only affects one half of the body's nervous system. I only got the rash, not blisters. But I started taking antiviral meds within 3 days. My body ached really bad the day before the rash appeared. The rash was deep red, almost brownish and quite ugly.

IF, big IF it is shingles, it is not presenting like it. But I am running out of ideas of what it could be. It looks like red splotches and gets a raised welt like a mosquito bite.  This is just after I scratched so the lines are scratchmarks

Hmm, looks like shingle to me. I had it. But like FNW said just on the left side. Left weird vein/scars. Hurt like hell and itched like hell.

It does resemble shingles.

Mine did not leave scars. But I didn't get stretch marks from pregnancy either. And I got pretty huge.

No pesticides, no fertilizer, no feed, nothing other than soil.  Just plain dirt.  And it started before the first veggies became available.  No reactions at all when I planted everything and was arm deep (sometime literally) in soil.

I have a very sensitive body so I try to limit my exposure to anything.  I use sensitive lotions.  I use one laundry soap, All Free & Clear.  No fabric softener.  I don't use soap on a regular basis, when I do, it's for sensitive skin or baby wash.  Diet has not changed.  I have run down the list so many times for several people.  It's frustrating not know why it's happening and why I can't get it to stop.  Especially now that it is spreading.  It's on about 50% of my body now.

I think it looks like either poison ivy or imfantigo.

Wait. You been gathering veggies? What plants? Do they have those little "hairs" on them some do? It could be from that.

I had a rash all over my body that looked just like that. Not kidding. JUST like that. Went to the doctor and he said it was bed bugs. They treated me with steroids to control the itching. They told me I would have to have an exterminator treat my bed and house. I never did anything to treat for bed bugs. Nothing. After awhile the rash went away. So I guess it wasn't bed bugs. Oh and my DS had it too when I had it. But not nearly as bad.

It started before I started gathering the veggies. Poison ivy, oak or sumac would not come and go.

I don't think it is beg bugs - DH does not have a single bite. Three different doctors have seen it so far and are all stumped. They say it is not bug bites. Waiting on blood results.

It comes and goes. Meaning I may wake up with it but by dinner time, it is gone or mostly gone. I have had a few days without it at all. And it does not matter if I sleep in the bed or on the sofa. They just appear.

Steroids do not seem to be working at all. Cortisone cream does not work. Benedryl does help some but not completely.

Have they ruled out it being a stress rash? It would account for it coming and going.

Yeah, mine came and left. It never came back after that. That's how I knew it wasn't bed bugs. They don't just bite you once and go away. No one ever figured out what mine was either. But I just broke out once and when it healed it was gone. Strangest thing.

Just got off the phone with doctors office. Not abnormal on the blood tests. Nothing from the allergy panel. Referral to dermatologist. Their referred one first appointment is almost 2 weeks out. Thankfully a client from work is a dermatologist and I have an appointment at 7:45 tomorrow morning.

There is nothing that out of the ordinary with my stress levels. Then I would have an easy answer. And I appreciate all the suggested reasons. It does help to have some fresh eyes even if there are no answers. Yet.

Lexxy, Sorry your day is frustrating

Jlbear, I hope you receive relief soon!!  NJN, I remember that - I'm glad it went away and hasn't returned.  My personal spin is, who knows what one is truly exposed to when we're out in public?  Anything from some kind of pesticide or poison from someone's hands who just used that shopping cart before you, or a myriad of other possibilities.

I used to get places like that on my hands when handling wool carpet samples at the plant.

Itched like crazy. Between my fingers were the worst.

Yes. I got poison ivy a couple of months ago despit not touching ANY plants of any kind. The only thing I could come up with was secondary contact with a grocery cart or countertop.

I get it a couple times a season from my cats.  They run through the woods & then come in for pets.

jlbear, I have a friend who reacts like you do during tomato season. She doesn't even have to get near a tomato plant, but will break out if a friend has been in a garden with tomato plants. Hope you find an answer soon.

NAOW, hope Baby A is better.

FWM, hope YOU are feeling better as well.

DGS and I did the yard work this morning. Ahhh, it looks so much better!!

Visited an old friend all afternoon. We had a good time.

Now I need to figure out what's for supper.

HI ALL!

I've learned that there are plants/weeds you may not even notice in the garden that if you get close, you get a rash. I've come in contact with stuff where a rash or bumps sprang up instantly on my skin. You clean it with rubbing alcohol and it goes away.

I think I have poison ivy in my yard. I touched it because I thought it was a vine we usually have. It was fuzzy. I looked up how long symptoms take to arrive. Wikipedia said three weeks for a first exposure. It's been about two. So my symptoms should appear if exposed while I am on vacay. Yay me!

Hi all. I have spent the day washing everything I own. I don't like moving stuff that isn't clean - blankets, curtains, pillows, etc. NJN has convinced me that tomorrow I need to pack for vacation. We leave on July 30 and it's going to be cool there so I could pack now and not worry about needing the stuff I pack.

DD's team has won most of their games and won today again - sending her team into the final round robin. She was the captain today and was excited about their win. Hopefully her team wins it all! I will try and post some pics in the break room of their opening ceremonies. It's very cool, she has a USA jacket and everything.

I was wanting to watch that. But it was on at the same time as Supernatural.

Sharknado 3 will be on again this weekend. I'll watch it then.

Is it as fun as the first two?

That rash kind of looks like Caitlyn's eczema when it flares really bad.
